Apparently McDonald’s, after a bazillion years on the planet, has now decided to make healthier food?
Yeah, I know. They’ve been doing it gradually over the years with the addition of salads on the menu and apples in the Happy Meals, oatmeal in the morning but now? Now they’re messin’ with the McNuggets.
Back off McDonald’s. Them’s fightin’ words.
According to CNN Money, “…as of Monday it’s chicken nuggets and several breakfast menu items no longer have artificial preservatives. And McDonald’s plans to eliminate high fructose corn syrup from all its hamburger buns by the end of August.”
CNN goes on to say, “Artificial ingredients have been targeted by consumer advocacy and regulatory groups raising flags about health risks.”
SERIOUSLY?
Is there somebody on the planet that didn’t know this???
NOBODY goes to McDonald’s or any other fast food joint because they’re fucking healthy. They go because it’s disgustingly loaded with all of those artificial ingredients and grease and sodium and anything else that makes fast food taste so delicious.
TO MCDONALD’S – Stop fucking with the food. Ya’ know you can get a 10 pc. nugget at ‘Burger King’ for a buck 49 AND they added ‘Mac n’ Cheetos’ to their menu.
They don’t give a shit about health risks.
TO THE HEALTH NUTS – Tough Titty!
Eat someplace else!
I’m not big on fast food but it’s certainly convenient when you’re out late and you don’t feel like going home to cook. Or, hey, we all get those cravings for whatever fast food we happen to like best. Lately, Burger King nuggets have been my “go to” fast food choice. They taste way better than McDonald’s McNuggets and you get more bang for your buck. I don’t like Burger King’s drinks tho so I’ll head down the road to McDonald’s and grab a sweet tea or stop at a gas station and get a bottle of water.
SIDE NOTE:Â If you haven’t tried the ‘Mac n’ Cheetos’ at Burger King, you need to. They’re yummy.
What’s your favorite fast food joint? Whatta’ ya’ get?
You know I’m a nosey bitch so I wanna’ know.Happy “Tough Titty Tuesday! What’s going on in your lives today that makes you wanna’ shout TOUGH TITTY!

Oh man. That sounds soooooo good. We don’t have In-N-Out in Idaho yet but I’m hoping it will come here. We finally got Panera Bread but that took forever.

Oh, where to start, where to start? I wonder if they are going to get rid of the additive that makes you want more? Ahem, my son worked for a well known fast food place and it was not only the calorie laden offerings that turned me off, but son’s descriptions of the things the workers did there. Ew! Double ew! Maybe every food worker has done something without thinking, but I look at any of that stuff with a raised eyebrow. Finding a hair on your sandwich is bad enough, but a short and curly? Nope. Can’t go there on purpose. I don’t care how ‘healthy’ they make it.

I’m an Arby’s and Steak n Shake girl! I love the chicken salad at Arby’s and the beef n cheddar with RB sauce. Steak n Shake…any number of their burger combo plates with a LARGE chocolate shake! Oh yeah, I’m hungry now.

Yum, Arby’s. I usually stock up when they have their 5 for 5 deals and put ’em in the freezer. We used to have a Steak n’ Shake here but I think it closed. Chocolate shakes are my fave too, unless it’s St. Patty’s day then I’ve got to have the shamrock shake from McDonald’s. Unless they change that up too.

I’m not a fan of fast food. I liked Dairy Queen but there isn’t one near me here.

That’s hilarious – I remember my first ever Macdonalds. It was in Canada after I emmigrated there from the UK in the 70s. We didn’t have them here then and I was blown away by their egg McMuffins and hash browns. Was totally addicted!
OMG – I LOVE curry. It’s not fast food I know – but I don’t that anymore (I know – how BORING!) But since I hit ‘maturity’ (I hate saying 60) I only have to look at fast food and I grow outwards very quickly. We practically live in our local Indian Restaurant – I avoid the breads etc but could eat vegetable curry for every meal.

My son took me to lunch yesterday and I had curry chicken for the first time. I LOVED it! I could definitely get used to that for sure.

I think they have to make some changes to compete, but people do not go there for healthy food. I only go when I’m on a long road trip…kind of like an excuse.

Then they should open up another chain of nothing but health food and leave the original McDonald’s alone. 🙂

Take my Mom there every now and then cause she’s as addicted as I am!

I thought for sure you were going to add White Castle to that list Joe! It’s first place I hit when I come back to Michigan. The one over by the Pontiac Mall?? We don’t have Hardees out here but we do have Carl’s Jr., that’s my son’s favorite. I’ve never been to Hunter House. We’ll have to have a lunch date there when I come back to visit. 🙂

Alas the Mall is completely closed, AND the White Castle is gone as well. My trips to White Castle were usually limited to after the bars closed and nothing else was open! I’ll definitely take you to Hunter House, it’ll just be you and me though Kathy can’take even stand the smell!!! Lol
NOT a grilled onion on her burger girl that one…

Ha! Mc Do becoming healthy is quite a joke, na!

McDonald’s getting healthy is a joke. And I’m not so sure their burgers are all beef. Just sayin’. I’d rather have coffee and gorge on pastries! 🙂

We don’t have that many fast food joints around here, but I do like the occasional Arby’s plain roast beef sandwich. McDonald’s has a grilled chicken sandwich called “The 12” which isn’t too bad either. It’s been years since I had a Big Mac, but they were so good! 🙂 I think it’s great these places are offering some “healthier” options or at least lower calories ones. The older I get, the quicker the weight piles on. 😛 Cooking every day gets tedious and sometimes there’s no time, so it’s good to have a choice.

I always forget about Arby’s but it always seems like a healthier choice. I have never heard of “The 12” chicken sandwich at McDonald’s. I wonder what it’s called here. – And we’re just gonna’ step away from that whole “the quicker the weight piles on” comment. I think I smell brownies… Hahaha 🙂
