This was my favorite focus of the day.
RAIN! Beautiful wet leaves and the smell of autumn.
I had one of these the other night and I felt like a kid again trick or treating back in Michigan.
Every Halloween it rained. Every Thanksgiving the Lions played the Bears. Those two things a kid could count on.

I’m really digging this tea right now. If you haven’t tried it you should. It is delicious!
Day 2 of no coffee. A slight headache but I think I’ll live.

On the craft table tonight. I’m finally getting around to fixing my crestfallen $2 thrift store angel. I saw her a million years ago and I just couldn’t leave her trapped in that stuffy store. Not to mention, she’s crocheted and I know the time and work that went into making her.
Stay tuned for her big reveal.
It’s been a bit of a busy day thus the late post.
I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of a beautiful fall weekend.
Looks like rain all week for us and I am more than okay with that!

Who’s got plans this weekend? Mine are boring errands for most of the day and then playing the rest. Hopefully in the rain!

Whatever your plans, be safe and be well.
Happy Weekend!
This is the second 8 I’ve drawn. 8’s are all about success.
My 4 children and 4 grandchildren = SUCCESS!
Of course, they do. I didn’t need a card to tell me that!

The apprentice card. This is a card of new paths to be taken and adventures to be had. It’s about learning, commitments, focus (Friday Focus) and boundaries. All of which are pulling me and have been pulling me.

It’s my “everything old is new again” moment in time. Finding my way back to me via new paths and new adventures.
Commitment to self. Learning of self. Focus of self and boundaries of self.
I’m okay with that and apparently, Spirit is too.
So mote it be.
What about you?
Are any of you feeling a commitment to self?
Is there a “pull” to spend some extra time with yourself,
focused only on yourself?
Leave your thoughts in the comments, please.

  1. Lovely wet leaves in their autumn colors! I do love the colors of autumn leaves. I must admit I’ve never heard of Zaffy Taffy but it looks like fun (jokes on every wrapper) and I see it’s natural too. And wow, salted caramel tea?! I must try it. But no coffee? I’d miss it too much, I do love my coffee. The crocheted angel is pretty and I look forward to her big reveal.

I love the idea of commitment to self. That’s something I really need to do as well. The quote by Danielle LaPorte is quite profound. To remember who I was before the world told me who I should be, I’d have to go back to my much younger days when I had dreams. Dreams that started to go my way until I came to a fork in the road in my 30s, and I made a choice then I would not have made today. And everything changed in ways I had not expected and dreams faded. It’s the stuff that often makes me sad. So commitment to self is an excellent plan.

If it doesn’t rain all weekend (too much rain here lately) I plan to plant tulip bulbs. Nice drawing those 8s for success. Have a great weekend, Karen!

    • Boy, isn’t that the truth, Jlil? Those decisions made in youth… – Yay for planting tulips! They’ll be up before we know it. 🙂 And you can send all of that rain this way. We can never get enough! – Happy planting or hanging out enjoying the rain. 🙂

  2. I’m so ready for a good rain here. The air is terrible with all the nut knocking that goes on for weeks. I think they are almost done. Fresh air would be wonderful.

I take time for me all the time. I didn’t in my younger years like most moms, but I do know.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Karen. Big hug. ♥

    • I’m so happy you make time for you. 🙂 It’s so important, isn’t it? I tell my daughter and daughters-in-law all the time to always keep that part of their lives for manis and pedis, for cute polish or lip gloss or a great pair of shoes. Big or small those parts of us as women need to be maintained. – Ugh. I know about wanting fresh air. When we have bad fire seasons the air is awful. I hope yours clears up soon. – Hugs right back and fingers, eyes and toes all crossed for breathable air. ❤

  3. Yes, yes, yes, yes you are!!! I was hoping you’d know. ❤ I'm hoping to return with the New Year. I'm writing things that may or may not become posts in 2019. Idk. I just needed a moment, ya' know? I miss you too! ❤ Even if I don't do the Thankful Thursday online, know that you are always on my thankful list. 🙂
