THE THURSDAY 13 – Brain, mouth and out – No filter

Hi everybody! I hope you’re all having a great day/evening. I hope you’re all staying cool or warm, dry or wet. Whatever you need from this day, I wish you all of that.

So, today, I’ll be doing a Thursday 13 post. I don’t think I’ve done one before but this may be my new go-to post for all Thursdays.

The idea is just to make a list of 13 things. Easy peasy. Today mine will be 13 random thoughts. Whatever tumbles out tumbles out. So, here we go. I’ll try to keep them short.

1 – I listened to whining/barking dogs all day and I know it’s not their fault. It’s their owners. They go to work and the dogs go into the backyard. Hopefully, there’s water, shade, and food for them.

2 – I hate the heat. I know you know. I heard something the other day that this outrageous heat will be the norm in years to come. If that’s true the new summer drink at my house will be Mimi over ice… In my bathtub… Not shaken, not stirred, and hopefully undisturbed!

3 – I tried to watch the Presidential debate tonight but it was just too painful. Basically, we’re all fucked.

4 – I find myself addicted to unsweetened iced tea with lemon.

5 – I also find myself addicted to Britbox and Acorn.

6 – Tonight, for dinner, we had pork loin, mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans.

7 – I don’t like the news reporter Jake Tapper on CNN.

8 – I have 2 projects going right now. 1 for Halloween and 1 for Christmas.

9 – My granddaughter’s first concert last week was New Kids On The Block and Paula Abdul. She loved it and knew all of the songs. That’s because her mom (my daughter) knew all of the songs, because why? That’s right because this mom jammed out in the car during the 80s and 90s.

Annnnd, one of the band members is on one of my favorite shows, Blue Bloods as Danny Reagan.

And, in the way back when machine, he’s the one with the bandana. It’s so funny to see these pics now. To Mark Wahlberg’s credit, he has now been a multi-generational hottie in my family.

10 – My favorite New Kids On The Block song is You Got It (The Right Stuff)

11 – It sucks that Blue Bloods is doing their last season. It’s a great show.

12 – My allergies are acting up and that sucks too.

13 – It’s 11pm and I’m tired so I’m heading to bed. It’s been a long day for me!

Okay, well, there’s my Thursday 13. Not too bad. I was still trying to make them shorter. – Next time… Maybe… Good night!

  1. Does this mean you’re back? Yeah! That is so cool that your granddaughter saw some good throwback music for her first concert! In my 2000Honda Odyssey, we were listening to Backstreet Boys, N Sync, and Britney. I think I had the Now 2 CD (remember those?) which featured my favorite Cake song, which my kids thought was stupid, but I made them listen anyways!

    I have no idea what Acorn or Britbox is. TV shows? I just finished bingeing Hacks, with Jean Smart. It was pretty good.

    I can’t even with this election. So embarrassing for our country.😵‍💫

    1. I am back! – Hahaha! Yes, I remember the Now That’s What I Call Music! CDs. Omgosh. Good music and good times. My granddaughter loved the concert. She saw her first concert where I saw my first concert! I was a tag-a-long with my brother and his gf. Chicago was playing and mostly I just remember getting hit in the back of the head by a frisbee! Hahahaha.

      Britbox and Acorn are British streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. I watch the cop shows and the mysteries. They all seem to be a bit calmer than some of our tv, if that makes sense.

      I dread the upcoming election. I’m trying not to watch because it really is painful. This is the best we’ve got? Help me pack! I’m moving to Ireland! Lol.

  2. I’m not great with doing the short lists on Thursdays. This week’s is definitely not short. Sigh. Ah well…

    I couldn’t watch the debate. I never do. If one is still undecided at this point…

    Stay cool. I don’t like summer heat, either.

    1. I’m so happy I read your T13 list. Happier that you were not seriously injured. – I think I’ll keep the T13 list and alternate it with Thankful Thursdays. – Omygosh. The debate. You’re right. People should at least have an idea of where their vote is going. I know where mine is with or without the debates. – Hey. We’ve cooled off into the 80s and I’ll take it and keep it for the rest of summer. I’m just so done with the 90s and triple digit heat.

  4. I remember Blue Bloods, I’ve watched the whole series. I’m not and never was a New Kids fan, nor were my kids, they preferred other bands, but don’t ask me which ones.

    1. Blue Bloods is a great show. They should keep Blue Bloods and get rid of the Kardashian. I can’t believe they’ve been on forever. – As for music, whatever the top 100 songs are, we’re listening. I used to keep up on the latest tunes for my kiddos but now that they have kiddos of their own I need to stay on top for them. Lol. Currently, I am a “Swifty” with my oldest granddaughter. It’s fun.
