MONDAYS ARE FOR MUSIC

Since I just got back from attending graduations back east, I thought I’d share my favorite graduation song from Billboard’s Best Graduation Songs: Top Songs For The Class Of 2025.

It’s a great song. Give it a listen.
“Good Old Days” by Macklemore feat. Kesha

So. I’m home! Actually, I’ve been home since the 9th, but I needed a minute to get back in the groove of all things me, although, at the time of this writing/posting, I haven’t once picked up a crochet hook. I know. Shocking! I have, however, picked up fabric and have spent some time at the sewing machine. So, there’s that, and I’ve done a lot of reading, and really, I’ve just been chillin.

My trip was exciting and exhausting, fun and funny, and I will be sharing bits n’ pieces, but tonight, yes, it’s tonight, 9:28pm, it’s time to take the pup out one last time – I hope – and head to bed myself. Fingers, eyes, and toes all crossed that this will auto-post for me.

I hope everyone who celebrates it had a good Father’s Day. My Dad has been traveling in another realm for the past 18 years, but I still celebrate him with chocolate and/or a piece of cake with lots of frosting. He loved all things sweet, so you can imagine that out of his 7 children, I was his favorite.

Happy Monday, and I hope you all have a great start to your week. It’s good to be back and I’m looking forward to seeing what all of you have been up to in my absence… Did any of you have graduations to attend??

  1. That’s a great song, but what happened to the $ in Kesha?? LOL! My fave grad songs are Graduation by Vitamin C and Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen by Baz Luhrmann. They both make me cry every single time.

I’m so glad you are back and I cannot WAIT to hear about the edibles! OMG, I was dying when you posted that thing on Instagram. Dying!!!! And of course you were your father’s favorite! My Dad’s favorite things were pecan rolls and cashews. My kids thought it was weird that he always got butter pecan ice cream when they went anywhere. They were like, WHO likes that?? I’m assuming less is being made, now that he’s gone.

We’ve attended a dance recital and Little League games and a huge retirement party (80 people) so far this summer. Our big family vacay to Lake Michigan is coming up and we are psyched!

Have a great sunshiney week, Mimi! XO

    1. I TOTALLY forgot the $! How could I?? Lol. – Graduation by VC makes me cry too but I haven’t heard the other one I’ll look it up on YouTube. – I’m glad to be back! Thank you! The eeedddddibbbbles! YES! I’ll write that post tonight. Lol! Omg. Doesn’t anyone just puff away on a big ‘ol fattie anymore??? Lol. – My mom always got butter pecan ice cream. Every now and again she’d switch it up to Blue Moon but butter pecan was definitely her go to. – You’ve had a busy summer already and soon MICHIGAN!! Here’s my Michigan vacay advice. 2.5mg – 5mg is PLENTY for edibles. I learned that from my other 3 grown children who weren’t trying to kill me! LOL! Also. There are edibles you eat during the day and then they have some that are for nighttime. I have no clue… I don’t know what happened but I used to be the cool kid! Lol.

  2. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. Loved the video.

I’m glad you’re home and getting back to normal. Well as normal as you and I can get.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a fabulous day and week. Love you, Karen. ♥

  3. Rest up. Travelling is exhausting. While I did not attend any graduations, I was graduation adjacent. (End of year subbing is covering for teachers attending various graduations, and I was on one campus on the day the seniors all walked the campus in their caps and gowns.)

    1. Traveling is exhausting! I’m so happy I’m not the only one who feels this way and as much fun as it was, I sure am glad to be home. – Isn’t the graduation buzz at the schools wild? I remember my graduation and it didn’t feel at all like the ones going on today. These kids are just pumped for life, which is weird because I think their life is going to be a mess if the regime is still around.
