Hi, everybody. It’s after 9pm so it’s a late night post for me. Geesh. What a week it’s been. When I posted on the 1st, I had every intention of posting every day, and I was so ready! Then Covid decided to be an asshole and visit my home, getting all of us sick. The kids pushed through, and they felt like they just had a really bad case of the flu. I ended up in the ER.
The last time I had Covid, my dr. prescribed me a medication called Paxlovid. If you take it within the first few days of a positive Covid test, the Paxlovid will lessen the severity of Covid and keep it from getting worse. For me, Paxlovid was a lifesaver! This time having Covid, kicked my ass all the way to the ER! I thought for sure they would give me Paxlovid as soon as I got there, and I would be on my way to feeling a million times better. – NOPE. – Covid has already mutated and Paxlovid doesn’t work with this strain. How wild is that?
So, I got fluids and antibiotics via an IV, a couple of Ibuprofen and some Zofran for the nausea and vomiting. That was the treatment, so, basically it is a flu. The body aches, the coughing and sudden feelings of exhaustion, are lingering on, but I’ll take it! Anything is better than full on Covid. My only hope is that this is it for me. With cold, flu, and Covid season upon us, I think I’ve already paid my dues.![]()
I can’t believe we’ve already blown past the first week in September. Why can’t it go as slow as a slug, like hot n’ sweaty summer does? It’s almost 10pm, and it’s still 78 degrees out. All this week is supposed to be near 80, which is a whole helluva lot better than triple digit heat or heat in the 90s, but I’m looking for highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. Those temps mean open doors and windows, front and back, and I am beyond ready for that!

I haven’t really done a whole lot since Covid. I’ve caught up on some reading, and I have managed to work on my never-ending 2023 Halloween quilt. It may look familiar to some of you who saw it when I first started it back in 2023. Good lord. My quilting moves along at the pace of slug-ass summer.

Will it get finished this year? Who knows, but stay tuned, miracles do happen.

For my Monday music, I’ve chosen ‘Goodbye Stranger’ by the group Supertramp.
Also, a thank you and R.I.P. to the co-founder of Supertramp, Rick Davies, who died Sept. 6th from a blood cancer. He was 81.

I hope all of you have had a wonderful start to this beautiful month of September, and I hope your week ahead brings you many smiles and lots of laughter. Laughter is such a great cleanse for the soul, isn’t it? Oh! I’ll be around visiting and catching up with all of you tomorrow. I know I’ve missed a lot, but I don’t mind reading if you don’t mind the late visits and comments. And another, oh! What did you guys do for the Labor Day Weekend? (If you celebrate.)
