IS IT JUST ME????

Good morning and Happy Friday, wait, hang on, lemme’ check, it is Friday, right? My days and nights have literally been rolling all over each other. It started with the oven going out, then the A/C tanked. We got a new oven and a new A/C – one of the many pluses of apartment living. – THEN the pipes broke in the bathroom! Seriously. Fat chance we’ll be getting anything new there. Oh, and then there was a little hospital stay But all is well. It’s fine, I’m fine. Everything’s fine.

Okay, I have to ask, is anybody watching this freaky show?

I won’t go into detail just in case someone is watching it but I seriously can not figure out who the sociopath is! I think they all are! It’s one of those shows you think you figured it out, but nope, PLOT TWIST! I haven’t finished watching all of it because a person can only take so much crazy at one time but I will continue to watch this train wreck because I will figure it out!

Totally random me… Besides resting I’ve been quilting, crocheting, working on Christmas projects, digging into genealogy again, repotting house plants, and apparently growing my hair because I guess that’s just something I do now. it’s down to my waist! It’s crazy.

What about you guys, what’s some random stuff happening with you?

What about weekend plans? Did anybody go to or host some amazing BBQs over Memorial weekend? I have to say, it’s this time of year that I really miss my mom’s potato salad, which is my grandma’s potato salad. I know the recipe but it never tastes the same. What are your favorite foods at BBQs?

Well, this appears to be a forever-long post. I think I may have missed blogging… And of course, I’ve missed all of you. You’re always so kind when I disappear forever and then just pop up. I’ll try to do better. There really have been some challenging days but I’ll do what I can do as long as you keep reading my drivel.

  1. This made me laugh! I just blogged on my original blog for the first time since 2021! I always assume everyone from wayback has been blogging regularly with complete dedication. So I had to smile when I read this. Sounds like you have had some challenges. Hope you are ok – you still have your sense of humour and give a great read! My intention is to blog more 😂😂😂 we’ll see. Much love to you across the pond. x

    1. Hahaha! Good, I’m not alone! I always think the same thing. Everybody’s keeping up but me. Some are, some aren’t.

Yesssssss. Challenges abound but I think it’s over now. I’m good, all the stuff is getting taken care of so it’s a good day, right? – I will be heading to your post shortly. I’m happy you’re posting again! And thank you for your kind words Gilly. I’m sending that love right back to you. <3

  2. OMG, one of the podcasts I listen to keeps talking about the Natalia Grace show, so I know all about it, even though I haven’t watched it. So much of it is freaky! Where is the ‘girl’ now??

My husband smoked $200 worth of meat (no, NOT weed!!!!) over Memorial Day weekend, so our freezer has a shelf devoted to it. Ribs, pulled pork, turkey, and brisket. YUM!

I had good news yesterday. My mammogram from Wednesday was normal! I’m a nervous wreck every year, as 50% of the time, I get called back for ultrasounds or biopsies. I realize I’m fortunate that everything has been benign, but at what age can we stop this annual torture?

I hope whatever hospitalization you had, that all is well now? XOXO

    1. Did that podcast come to any conclusions about who the sociopaths were? The whole situation just made my head hurt. I read that she’s where she was, Indiana I think and the rest of the family went to Canada. Natalia was on a Dr. Phil episode. I haven’t looked for it because, well, Dr. Fucking Phil but maybe after things settle down a bit I will. – Yay for a normal mammo! I’m wreck when I go too because I too get those call backs but yes, we are fortunate and because we are fortunate we’ll be getting our titties smashed to the end of time! – Wow… All of that meat sounds delicious! Pulled pork is one of my favorites. I eat mine with coleslaw on it, do you? Sorta’ like a Wet Reuben. Coleslaw instead of sauerkraut. – I’m good. Nothing major. If it ever is major stuff I’ll post all about it. Otherwise you won’t hear in detail about my innards or see photos of any scars. Hahahaha. Now, bodily functions. You might hear about those! <3

  3. Looks like if something bad is going to happen it’s going to happen at your place. Hope this trend is over. Hospital stay? You didn’t elaborate. Hope all is well.

We had a quiet Memorial Day weekend. No BBQ either. What we’ve been doing is remodeling our home. We’re on the very last piece of that and we’re ever so happy. It’s beautiful too.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Karen. Love you. ♥

    1. No kidding! I think once the whole leak thing is taken care of we’ll be good. Besides we got brand new appliances so that’s a huge bonus in the world of apt. living. – No. I didn’t elaborate because it’s nothing serious but if it ever is I will post all about it, mainly because I’ll be whining. Happy Monday, Sandee. Love you bunches. <3

  4. Wow, oven and A/C tanking and then the pipes, yikes! Glad you at least got a new oven and A/C. BUT what’s this about a little hospital stay?! Good to know you’re fine but I hope you don’t mind me asking what happened.

I haven’t watched that curious case show but it sure sounds freaky and I just might need to check it out. Love all the random stuff you’ve been doing. I’ve been digging into genealogy too, planting a garden (but not as much this year b/c my foot is still recovering from last year’s surgery,) and watching the sparrows and wrens nesting in the birdhouses in my yard (so relaxing).

My fav BBQ foods are grilled hot dogs and burgers, grilled shrimp, corn on the cob, and pasta salad. Mimi’s Thought for the Day is Magical! <3

    1. I know. So much all at once but true, brand new appliances out of the deal. – I’m good. Just some tests. No biggie. – How is your foot doing? I’ve read it takes a while for the healing. I hope you aren’t in much pain. – Watching the birds do anything is so relaxing. The movie not included, I love the birds.- It’s time for you to come back to blogging. :)

      1. I’m so glad it was just some tests and I hope all the results are good for you! My foot is gradually healing but the orthopedist had told me in the beginning that it would take a full year for recovery. Thanks for asking! The surgery was at the end of August last year. Unfortunately, the osteoarthritis was so severe that even though the dr removed the arthritis (and put in 3 screws), he was unable to completely correct the shape of my left foot. It leans left and I still have a bump on the side, although smaller than before. That makes wearing shoes a real problem! I still have pain in my left foot every day but less pain than before surgery. I really never knew that of all the past surgeries I’ve had in my life, foot surgery would turn out to be the most painful of all! Still, I am glad I had it done. As a friend of mine always likes to say, aging is not for sissies! :)

  5. You do more than I ever did, basically I sit. By the TV, by the computer, reading a book. But today I am actually going out somewhere, the twin gran daughters turned one yesterday and today there is a party for them! I wish my hair would grow to my waist, it stops a few inches past my collar.

    1. Oh wow. Happy Birthday to your twin grand-princesses! – And hey, nothing wrong with just sitting and chilling out. I think people would be a lot happier without a schedule 7 days a week. – I don’t know what the deal is with my hair. It’s always grown fast but I think the last time it was this long was when I was married and my husband liked long hair. THEN, he pissed me off and I got it cut into a bob. You’d of thought he’d remember the time I merely mentioned the thought of getting a perm… He said, if I’d of wanted to marry someone with curly hair I would have. So, of course I had to go to my sister’s salon and get a spiral perm that very day! Lol.
