THURSDAY 13 – Old dog, new tricks

  1. I’m starting to love my iPhone. It’s a learning curve, but you can teach an old dog new tricks.

  2. I didn’t know there was a movie made using an iPhone, but yes there was.

This movie was made using the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Several of them! That’s wild.
    *** Per Wikipedia
28 Years Later is a 2025 post-apocalyptic coming-of-age[6][7][8] horror film produced and directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland.

  3. I made homemade chicken noodle soup and it was delicious.

  4. I did some binge-watching and got caught up on NCIS, Law & Order SVU and Criminal Minds Evolution.

  5. I started watching Tony & Ziva. It’s a spinoff of the original NCIS show when Gibbs (Mark Harmon) was at the helm.
I’m undecided as to whether I like it or not. I like the characters. It would be nice if it wasn’t cancelled before I know for sure.

  6. I’ve been crocheting autumn leaves for a cozy fall garland.

Obviously not done, but I will post pics when it is.

  7. and 8.
First #7, the super cool Wednesday Addams doll my kids surprised me with. I love that it came with a tiny “Thing.”
  8. I discovered this cool little feature that iPhone has. You can look up the plants in the photo. I don’t know if all iPhones do that, but it’s super cool.

  9. A scene from one of my favorite movies.

Sleepless In Seattle – Meg Ryan is singing along with the Christmas song, Jingle Bells. Horses, horses, horses…

  10. A random pic I saved on Pinterest. Are any of you on Pinterest? I love retro art.

  11. My youngest turned 32 on the 13th of this month! Absolutely wild! Time is a thief.

  12. Fun fact via Wikipedia – September 18, 1837 in Brooklyn, Connecticut, U.S. New York City, U.S. Tiffany & Co. was founded in 1837 by the jeweler Charles Lewis Tiffany and became famous in the early 20th century under the artistic direction of his son Louis Comfort Tiffany.
I have never received a little blue box from Tiffany’s, but it’s on my bucket list.

  13. And what better follow-up to #12 than this great tune.

Happy Thursday, everyone. We’re almost through the 3rd week in September, how crazy is that? I’m loving it, but it’s going by so fast! We’re getting fall temps off and on, but I wish the nighttime temps were our daytime temps. I’m sure a lot of people disagree with me on that, but lately people disagreeing with me seems to be the norm and that’s okay because I disagree with them. You know as you get older none of that bullshit matters and honestly, who has time for it? Not me. Love me or hate me, agree or disagree, I just don’t give a fuck anymore, and that’s pretty much where I’m at on this fine Thursday morning.

I’ll be cleaning out closets today. One of my least favorite things to do because it seems like you make a bigger mess trying to get everything in order, and it would be so much easier to just close the door and be done with it. It’s that way with a lot of things in life. Big messes, closing doors and being done.

This weekend, I’m being taken away to parts unknown. It’s a surprise. I hope it’s someplace very fallish.

I hope you’ve had a great week thus far. Anybody have any cool plans for the weekend? And just so you know, staying home and relaxing counts as cool plans. As always, I want to hear what’s happening with all of you, so please share in the comments.

  1. A wonderful Thursday 13. I used to do this hop way back in the day. Sometimes it was hard to come up with 13 things though.

I’m so ready for fall and cooler temperatures. We’re in another heatwave here. Sick of the hot.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Love and hugs, Karen. ♥

    1. I just found out about Thursday 13 not very long ago from another blogger, Liz over at Laws of Gravity, and I thought it was a perfect, quick and easy blog post. You’re right tho. It’s harder than it looks to come up with 13 things! – Oh, I’m so sorry about your heatwave, that just sucks so much! I hope you get some relief soon. I’m going to over to Utah to see their colors. Coming from Michigan, you just get used to the brilliant fall colors. I’m hoping Utah has something similar. – We’re not cooling off until October according to the Weather Channel, which is fine I guess. As long as Halloween and corn mazes feel like they’re supposed to. Lol. – Love you, Sandee and I’ll take that hug because I need it very much! Thank you.

  2. Happy Thursday! 🌞 Hubby and I, avid NCIS fans, have been watching Tony & Ziva, and we like it. Wednesday too, and Thing! We love Thing. 😀 Your crocheted leaves are so pretty! Can’t wait to see the finished product. I’ll look for you on Pinterest – been there for years. Time marches on at warp speed, it seems. Hard to believe Sept. is half over already! 😲 Have a wonderful surprise weekend! 🎉

    1. Yay! I’m not the only one watching Tony & Ziva! Nobody wants to give the spin-offs a try, but I’ll try them all. Look at the Law & Order spin-offs. I love all of them. I think what is throwing me about Tony & Ziva is that Tony doesn’t seem like the say Tony from the original NCIS. He was so fun in that one. I almost started watching NCIS from the beginning, but I can’t watch the Kate episode again. That was soooo horrible. – I love my Wednesday and Thing. It was so cool that they got her for me. They took me to some superhero, trading cards, Star Wars, Spider-Man, coffee shop – yes, coffee shop – and I saw Wednesday on the shelf and ooh’d and aaah’s about her, and then I saw the $60 price tag. I wanted her, but I wasn’t paying that price! Lol. My kids are just so different from me that way. They see it, they get it. Me, I’m waiting for a sale. Lol. So, that was a nice surprise from them. – I’m on Pinterest every day. There’s just so much to see. I’m not a fan of all of the Etsy ads, but I still love it. – I kind of have an idea of how the weekend will be and I’ll share that in another post. It will definitely be fun.

  3. I’m so glad you’re getting the hang of your new phone. I made my YouTube videos using mine. (My terrible knitting/crochet videos. But, you have to be bad before you can be good as the meme I showed the middle schoolers yesterday says.)

    1. Yes, FINALLY. I’m still stuck on how to get my photos/videos off of my phone and onto my external hard drive. I had thousands of photos on my Android, and they all came over to my iPhone. Ugh. It’s such a pain. I tried 3 apps that were supposed to help. None of them did. I can connect my iPhone to my PC and manually transfer them over which I’ve been doing 20 photos at a time. That’s just not going to work. I almost want to take it to the Geek Squad.

      1. my daughter did something to my iphone (which used to be heres) and now I can select photos and send them to my laptop via my email. Before this I had to plug my phone into the usb port and transfer the photos which took forever.

        1. Omgosh. That’s what I’ve been doing and then today I opened my cloud file and there everything was and transferring the photos was so easy and went so fast that I filled up my external hard drive in no time! Fortunately for me, my son happened to have an extra external hard drive that he wasn’t using that is 2 TB and I’ll finish up my photos tonight!

  4. I’m still waiting on Tony and Ziva, it isn’t down under the equator yet.

My iphone does the plant recogition thing too, I think they all do.

My oldest grandchild is 32! My great grandson is two and a half and will soon have a sister.

    1. Oh! Then I won’t post anymore about it. I don’t want any spoilers for you! Does the U.S. get everything early? I wonder why everybody doesn’t get it at the same time. – I thought that plant recognition was so cool! I wonder what else it will recognize. – Wow! Your oldest grandchild is 32? No way! My grandsons are 18 and 19, both in college, and I hope they wait a long while before they make me a grandma! Lol. Congratulations on your soon-to-be great-granddaughter! Man, I hope I get to be a great-grandma some day. Did you guys take the generational photo?

  5. I love your crocheted leaves! I’ve never seen anything like that. I’m on Pinterest, but mostly for the recipes. If you ever join TikTok, LMK because it’s a party over there!

I don’t have a small Tiffany box, but we’ve received some larger Tiffany gifts . . . from my spouse’s employer! LOL! We have 4 Tiffany wine glasses and a little silver pineapple tray (like, it fits in my hand). I like the pineapple, but we don’t use the wine glasses because we’re afraid of chipping or breaking them. How dumb is that?

I saw a great TikTok about disagreeing with friends. It was Adam Corolla about his friend, Jimmy Kimmel. Adam said he and Jimmy disagree about politics and pizza toppings, but they are still BFF’s. I’m not really telling it like he did, but I just thought it was a great message.

Where did you go that weekend?

    1. Tiffany ANYTHING is good by me, and absolutely use those wine glasses! If you think it’s too special, use it on any day you feel is special. Your flowers bloomed? Get those wine glasses down! Every day has something special. I would use at least one of those wine glasses every day. You guys are major wine people, what the heck? Lol. – Of course I’m on TikTok, same name. I didn’t know you were over there. I love TikTok but that much like Instagram is a black hole that I fall down and then look, oh, it’s 2 hours later! Lol. – I’ll look for the video. I follow Jimmy. I watch a lot of baby, cats, people falling – but not the ones where you know they got hurt, I just can’t do those – and then of course crafting/sewing and recipes. – Well, we set out heading north but we didn’t end up there. We have this car card game that tells you where to turn, or to follow a blue car for 3 miles, turn left on a street that starts with S. You get the idea. We ended up in the southern part of the state and did a little sleep-over and came back, again, using the cards. It’s a wild goose chase, but it’s fun. One of the cards is ‘pull into the next restaurant you see.’ That’s tricky if you’re in traveling clothes and the restaurant is dressy. I’ll post about it. I’m still dealing with my transferring of photos issue. I got them all off of my Android but for some reason they’re all on my iPhone now. It’s driving me bonkers.
