THANKFUL THIRSTY THRUSTY THURSDAY!

It’s ‘Thankful Thursday’ and also ‘Thirsty Thursday.’
Coincidence? I think not.
PSSST: I have no idea why “thrusty” is in the title of this post.
QUESTION: Is it too early to be partaking in ‘Thirsty Thursday?’
Asking for a friend….

Today I am thankful for air conditioning.
And vodka!
Yesterday was my vodka slushie day! Watermelon! My fave!
What a refreshing way to beat the heat!
It may be a vodka slushie day today as well…
It may have already started…
Sooooo, what are yous guys thankful for today and every day or just today???
What’s your favorite drink on tap for “Thirsty Thursday?”

Is it hot where you are??? I’m not complaining. I’m so happy to see the sun and be out of that 5th season of,
“time to find fucking Noah…”

Again, the weekend is upon us.
Who’s got plans?
I will be downtown at the Pride parade giving out free mom hugs to the kids whose parents disowned them, kicked them out, etc., after they told them they were gay/lesbian/trans.
Fucking assholes. So much for unconditional love.
Two of the beautiful souls that are my “pride” and joy.
My son (right) and his partner. Wonderful, kind, loving, intelligent humans loving each other, loving life and lucky me, they love me too!
MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
Time – 11:14am
Temp – HOT!
Mood – Lazy… Hot days just zap me sometimes.
Bitch, bitch, bitch – Zero but it’s early, it’s hot and I may be running low on vodka.
Best thing – Life
Be well.
MiMi

  1. I’d go with you if I were close. I’d be giving out hugs right along with you. I can’t imagine disowning your babies because they are gay, lesbian or whatever else. Just saying.

We’re heading to the boat this afternoon. Have a project to finish up tomorrow and then back home. We had triple digit weather since last Sunday. Going to be in the high 80s today.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Karen. Love you. ♥

    1. You won’t believe this, Sandee! You were in my spam folder today!!! No kidding! – Oh, it would be wonderful to have you by my side giving out these hugs. These poor kids. I remember how bad I felt if I knew my parents were disappointed in me I can’t imagine them turning their backs on me forever. – I hope you’re staying cool! Short boating break but short or long, any break that involves boating is heaven to me. Love you too ❤ Stay safe.

Thankful for all my people – both family and friends (husband of course). The vacuum cleaner – Now I just need to win the lottery so I can pay someone to use it on my behalf. Enjoy the Pride Parade – my nephew and his partner have been on the rough side of ‘attitudes’ – change is still needed.Hope you weather holds – send us some!

    1. Aw man. That sucks and I totally get the not doing alcohol. Water is always a great choice and so much better for you. – Hahahahahaha. If I win the lotto I’ll make sure you have someone who does ALL of the housework for you!!! – My son and his partner have been accepted for the most part and really, my son is a fairly big guy with hands like a bear paw and his partner can hold his own as well. Only someone very stupid would want to get in their way. I pray for them daily to maintain their safety… OH!!!!!!!!!!! I almost forgot! You went into spam again with the Russians! You and Sandee both! Hahahahaha.

  3. I am thankful that winter is over but we’re still looking for Noah and it’s only 57F in the middle of June. 😦 Oh well, hot weather will show up eventually – we hope. Your watermelon Vodka slushie looks SO refreshing! My favourite summer cocktail is Long Island Iced Tea, but Margaritas and Vodka/Cranberry juice are good too. Any time of year is time for Crown Royal on the rocks or chilled, white wine. People reading this will think I’m a lush! Hahaha! Nah; just rockin’ the European lifestyle.

Enjoy the Pride parade. Your son and his mate are a handsome couple. 🙂 And your strikethrough comment is spot on! Take away the line, make it bold and ALL CAPS.

Stay cool! (Literally and figuratively 😉 )

    1. Wow. Those are some cool temps for the middle of June. I hope you get some warmth and sunshine soon! – Watermelon vodka slushies are refreshing but when you mentioned vodka and cranberry juice… Now I want that! Hahahaha. I hope they think we’re both lushes! – Thank you so much for your kind words about my son and his partner. They are such great guys and so much fun to be around. I’m giving out my hugs because of them. I cannot imagine turning them away… My heart would break into a million pieces and I think the parents who turn on their own children don’t get to be called parents anymore because that’s not what parents do.

  4. Well, it’s June, so it should be hot, but it’s in the 60’s and has been raining on and off all day. It’s actually so dark, you’d think it was 6 pm in the winter!

What a nice thing to do to go give out hugs! I hope you make a difference in someone’s life.

    1. Man. You guys are getting waterlogged back there. I bet the grass is growing so fast! Well, even faster than usual. 🙂 Rainy days here n’ there are fine. Good days to curl up with books and endless cups of tea but holy smokes. I need my sunshine and warmer temps not temps from hell. – Oh, I never thought of making a difference in someone’s life. That would be wonderful if I did… I just want them to know that they’re loved and they can have as many hugs as they need. They’re kids… They need mom hugs. 🙂

  5. So glad you’re not one of those disowning parents. To hear about kiddos who can’t be who they are with their families just makes me sad.

    1. Are you kidding me? If my strict, Italian, Catholic, career military dad, raised in a Catholic boys school can accept me as mouthy and opinionated as I am, how could I turn one of my own away? Also. The nervous moment in the family was telling my dad when my son came out at 12 yrs. and my dad was just so chill with it. He said, “tell me something I don’t know. He’s got a tough road ahead of him.” – Never treated my son any different than any of the other grandkids. I truly was the last one to know in my family. I thought my son was just artsy. 🙂

      1. That’s so good to hear – about your dad’s reaction. When my parents were told about my sister’s son’s sexuality, they were fine too which was quite a shock – we thought they would be upset. We are slowly but surely moving towards a time when no one will have to ‘come out’ because people are getting the message that sexuality is what it is – and actually, it’s no one else’s damn business anyway!

    1. I’m hoping we’ve had enough rain so that we won’t have any wildfires which is the biggest issue with it being hot here. As long as there are lakes and rivers and water parks and AC I can get thru it. 🙂 You have an amazing weekend too! Don’t work so hard!

    1. Wow, really? It’s warm up your way too??? I always think of northern Idaho like I think of northern Michigan, it’s always cooler by at least 15 degrees. Stay cool up there. Plenty of places to take a dip or you can run thru the sprinklers! 😀

  6. Being gay is a pretty poor reason for disowning your kids. I don’t think there is anything my kids could do that would make me disown them. Maybe if they went around murdering and chopping up people I’d say they weren’t my kids.
Love isn’t as choosy as some people are.

  7. It seems it is raining a lot here. I think our weather is supposed to be comfortable but a chance of rain/thunderstorms every day. Weekend plans, Saturday we are having the kids over for Father’s Day dinner because Kera works Sunday. Sunday will be shampooing carpets. I love how you are handing out hugs. What I am grateful for, Family and Friends and another chance of seeing Paul McCartney.

    1. Seems like the midwest is reaallly getting drenched this year! – Oh man… How was your love Paul??? I bet you’re still walking on air. I’m so happy you got to see him AGAIN. That’s pretty cool. 🙂

  8. We’ve finally had a string of warm days – I wouldn’t call them hot – but ideal with low humidity and a lovely breeze. Ahhh! My choice on a hot day is a cold beer. We have a lot of local breweries who make some fantastic IPAs. So lovely you are giving out hugs. Your son and his partner are adorable. Happy weekend!

    1. Any day with low humidity is a wonderful day. We don’t have it here but I remember it well in Michigan. – A cold beer is always a great choice. We have some breweries here but I haven’t checked them out yet. I need to do that! Every year I vow to be a tourist in my own state and I never make all the rounds. – Thank you for saying my son and his guy are adorable. I think so too. 🙂 And they’re just good people. What a gift ❤ – I hope your week is going well. I found this comment in spam despite me marking you as NOT SPAM.
