2020 MISSED CONNECTION MONDAY – Wild Hair

❤ “Missed Connection Monday” is brought to you by your local Craigslist. These are real “love notes” that strangers leave for other strangers in the ‘Personals’ section of Craigslist. Or as I like to call it –
“Your local serial killer hunting ground.”

YOUR NEW HOUSE
Was doing sone work on your new house and we made eye contact and you smiled. You seem lonely and I think there may have been something there. You were a beautiful blonde bombshell. If you think this is you tell me where you were building
***The only thing I have to say about this is…
Next on ID, Nightmare In Suburbia.

Seriously, this one gave me the creeps for real. The guy knows what this woman looks like, where she lives AND the layout of her home. Bonus. He’s already making up some psycho imaginary scenario about her seemingly lonely life.

This would be my response…
 MATURE FEMALE AT FRED MEYERS
you were at fred meyers today, your ecclectic fashion sence and wild hair drove me crazy,if you read this and want to chat or something please reply.
***Awwww…
Dear Random Guy at FM,
It’s very sweet of you to notice. I did just get my hair cut but I’m really not into the whole “serial killer hunting grounds of Craigslist.” Thanks anyway.
Sincerely, Mimi.
PS – I drive a lot of people crazy.

Happy Monday, everybody! How was your weekend?
Mine was unplugged for the most part. I did have to check on kids back east and Miranda up on the mountain.

The photo below is at Miranda’s ranch yesterday.
We got about 3″ of snow here in the valley and they’re calling for a week of snow. It’s still not cold enough to keep it around for very long which is fine by me. I love the snow but January is usually such a frigid, gray month that seems to drag on forever.

Totally missed posting on Friday because I started decrapifying my bedroom closet. Why is that everything seems to grow tenfold once it comes out of a closet??? Seriously, cleaning closets make the biggest cleaning messes! I’m surprised at how much crap a person can get into a closet!

Anyway, so the decrapifying continued on and consumed my whole weekend because I may or may not be a hoarder of dresses, socks and crafting/sewing shit. I’m well over 100 on my decrapifying challenge.

❤ Aaaand, speaking of decrapifying… Seems we need to decrapify our beloved Luci. The vet did a complete head to toe exam… again… plus blood work, x-rays, and an ultrasound.
$184 later…
Our dog is full of shit.

With age (she’s 14) her spine has curved and that curvature combined with her just not being nearly as active as she once was, plus, a recent round of anti-biotics, it appears that Luci’s “plumbing” has gotten clogged. She’s taking a 1/4 tsp of Miralax twice a day. It’s a slow go but at least it’s a go!

❤ How are all of you surviving the crazy weather?? My kids in Michigan all got different weather. The one up north got dumped with snow (of course) and the other two down state, one got ice and rain, the other got nothing. Go figure.

Okay. I need another cup of java joe and then I’m heading to all of your blogs to catch up!

MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –

  1. Have you tried canned pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie mix) for “clogged doggie tummies”? The high fiber content gets/keeps things moving and dogs think of it as a treat rather than medicine. On the rare occasion Capo (my 11 yr old Yokie mix) gets backed up (super smelly gas is a dead giveaway that he needs help) I add a heaping tablespoon or so of the pumpkin to his food until he’s back to normal. I freeze the leftover pumpkin in an ice cube tray, then pop them out when frozen solid and store in a zip lock bag.

    1. I have given her pumpkin before and she absolutely loves it but now that she’s taking Miralax I’m afraid she might have an explosive episode.

      1. You’re right, maybe after she’s back on schedule giving her pumpkin a couple of times a week will keep things in check. She’ll love it and hopefully limit future expensive vet visits

  2. I love those Craigs list posting. Run, just run is what I’d do.

It’s what I need to do is attack my closet. Way too much stuff.

Have a fabulous day, Karen. Love you bunches. ♥

    1. That one listing was creepy. I have no idea why people get into that. – Omgosh. I finished my closet and I feel like I ran a marathon. I worked up an appetite and want a pizza soooo stinkin’ bad but I’m on the Atkins diet and pizza at this point is just a dream but hey I’ve lost 9 pounds so go me. I still want that pizza. – Love you Sandee. ❤

    1. It took me a minute to realize what you were talking about! I didn’t know if you had a haunted house or were a doomsday prepper… Hahaha. Also. I’m sure that’s a lie. 🙂

  3. We’re having typical January weather for around here. High today of 64. Rain maybe Thursday. Yup, pretty much standard stuff.

Congrats on the closet. That is a lot of work. Good job.

    1. You know, I have to tell you again, those shark hats are so stinkin’ cute! – Finished the closet and tomorrow I start the crafting tables… That’ll be a breeze. The closet most definitely was not.

  4. I’m cracking up at the realtor sign! Exactly! I’d be outa there. The weather has been wacky here. Pouring rain and 60 degrees on Friday and Saturday. I’m worried that we will pay big time soon with some massive blizzard.

    1. That’s always my thought too when winter weather is too good to be true… A blizzard is on the flip side!

  5. You should see my closet! I have only the one, in the bedroom, but since there is no linen closet and no laundry storage space, an awful lot of things are crammed into the bedroom closet. It’s a good thing I don’t have many clothes!

    1. Hahahaha. Well, I’m sure if I had more storage space I’d find more crap to put in it so I suppose for the moment I’m thankful but ya’ know a huge victorian overlooking the Great Lakes might be nice. 🙂

  6. My hubby seem to look at Craig list for things for our home. But it ok to look, but for while we need to be practical. The bank account is a little lower then I like.
Anther word no fun for this family.
I also been decrapify by organizing my fabric. Maybe by the time I get to my social security I might have handle on it

  7. A maid does make cleaning more fun, for everyone but the maid (i can say that since i am one).

What is it with dudes that a woman cannot smile at them in a friendly way without them thinking more of it?

Hope your sweet dog is feeling better soon.

    1. A maid who needs a maid. 🙂 – And yeah. I don’t know why guys are that way but they’ve been that way forever and it’s just as annoying now as it was when I was younger.

  8. That first Craigslist ad is scary! True stalker potential. 😦 Luci’s vet bill seems pretty cheap, considering all the procedures involved. Hopefully, the Miralax will do its job. Lots of my clients use the canned pumpkin with good results, too.

Decrapifying is a long-drawn-out process, which we’re going to start this summer when hubby retires. Closets are the worst! Congrats on finishing yours and for losing 9 pounds! 👌 I heard a commercial recently about low-carb pizza (aka Keto pizza), but don’t remember the details.

It’s January virus time at our house. 😛 Weather has been up and down. Torrential downpours on Saturday, following by some ice pellets and snow flurries. Not much happening now and it’s above freezing. Not too bad, for this time of year.

    1. I know… I wonder if the cops monitor Craigslist. For some of that crap, it seems like someone should! – Actually, Luci’s vet is one of the more expensive ones here but she loves him and he gets her so it’s a perfect match. Definitely adding the pumpkin after she’s done with her Miralax. She loves pumpkin! – Omgosh. Decrapifying is a long drawn out process and I think it’s a neverending process. I can’t believe how much crap I got rid of and how much more I have to go! – Thank you on the weight loss but it’s such a pain. Low carb diets really suck but apparently, the only way to lose the weight is to cut the carbs and there are so many carbs in EVERYTHING! Totally sucks… – I’m sorry that the viruses have hit but happy that it’s above freezing and you’re not buried under the snow. I’m so ready for spring… – Also. You should do something way more exciting than clean closets when your hubby retires. 🙂

      1. I’m with you on the carbs! We love pizza, pasta. bread, etc. Cutting down sure does help with weight loss, but you feel so deprived. 😛 As for the decrapifying, I figure hubby needs a project so he won’t be underfoot too much. 😉 Retirement is going to be one hell of an adjustment! I’m still running the dog boarding business, but I’m sure we’ll do some fun stuff, here and there. 🙂

      2. Hahahahaha. “So he won’t be underfoot too much.” Hahahahaha. I totally get that. 🙂 I think you having the boarding business is what is going to save your sanity when he retires! 😀

  9. The guy writing to the blonde with the new house was way creepy!! My note to that lady would be move in a hurry…and oh yeah, throw in free tacos with home purchase! (That realtor sign is so funny and quite clever). LOL about the guy driven crazy by the mature female with wild hair!

Looks like a nice snowfall at Miranda’s ranch. We still haven’t had any real snow here yet, just flurries, which means we’ll get hit with it late January or into February. I much prefer snow in December too.

Poor Luci! Getting old sucks for dogs and people too. I’m glad she’s finally having a go!

I spent last weekend housecleaning, then the rain came on Monday and my dogs dragged in clumps of mud on their paws from the backyard. Mimi’s thought for the day is exactly what I need! 🙂

    1. Yeah. That’s the first ad I’ve come across that felt really creepy to me. It still just blows me away that people choose to or try to hook up with people online. Meeting people face to face is challenging no way would I go to an online app or site but that’s just me. To each their own I suppose. – That’s usually the way winter works, isn’t it? Nothing in Dec. and then boom, snow for days come Jan. and Feb. I hope our itty bitty 3″ is all we get until spring. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? – Luci is getting old and it’s sad to witness but she has been the bestest best friend a girl could ask for and her unconditional love leaves me in awe. I want her to live forever. It’s cruel that our furry family does not live as long as we do because a lot of times they are more family and friend to us than those who walk upright. 😦 – Aw, isn’t that the way it goes tho? You just kid done cleaning and someone comes thru and undoes what you just did. 🙂
