2020 – IT JUST KEEPS GOING AND GOING…

THURSDAY – OCTOBER 8
***** Ten Things Of Thankful
It’s always so difficult to just pick 10 but here goes…
First, I have to say, I am always and forever will be thankful for my God, my kiddos and grands, and my family and friends so they make the list every day.

Ten things I’m thankful for specific to this day are…
1.) My crockpot. Thank you, Irving Nachumsohn.
If you click on Irving’s name it will take you to a page aaallll about him and his awesome invention.
(Omg. I wonder if Paul over at Redneck Latte Ravings just had a power surge. I feel like I just took a page from his blog!)

2.) Fresh, clean water anytime I want it or need it.

3.) Yarn, because, well… Yarn.

4.) My eyesight for watching how-to videos on YouTube and reading.

5.) Off buttons. I appreciate them so much, especially now.

6.) I’m thankful that I live in America. As crazy as it is right now it’s still the greatest country in the world.

7.) Amazon. – Dear sweet Amazon, it’s like Christmas every day with you!

8.) Blogging because I’ve met the coolest people here.

9.) Chili and cornbread cuz’ that’s what we had for dinner tonight and it was delicious!

10.) I’m thankful for the chill in the house when I get up in the morning. In the middle of the night when I have to pee? Not so much.

FRIDAY – OCTOBER 9
***** Curious
If people are going to be on tv giving interviews with face masks on why can’t they find one that fits? So many of them talk, talk, talk, and the mask slides further and further down their face.

Altho, maybe not this one…
Or this one…
I hope those are clean, fellas…

SATURDAY – OCTOBER 10
***** Great find.
Butter soft leggings. Perfect fit and 2 pairs for only $19 and free shipping on Amazon.
**They come in long style too not just the capris shown.

Gnpolo Women’s BlackHigh Waisted Leggings Pack
Soft Slim Tummy Control Trousers Yoga Pants

SUNDAY – OCTOBER 11
***** Why do vitamins have to be the size of submarines?!

MONDAY – OCTOBER 12
***** Happy Columbus, Indigenous People, or whoever the hell it was that discovered America, Day!!!!

TUESDAY – OCTOBER 13
*****
AMAZON DAYS!!!
So happy I was able to score a few Amazon deals and shorten my Christmas lists.

WEDNESDAY – OCTOBER 14
***** Wordless Wednesday

Here we are in the middle of October. I feel like it should be all about kids and costumes and trick or treating but the Coronavirus and politics are hanging in the air so thick. It’s so depressing…

I just heard on the news that the doctors are advising against big Thanksgiving dinners with extended family and friends.
That’s depressing too.
What next? They’re gonna’ tell us Santa isn’t real???

Just recently a family member was possibly exposed to Covid thru work. It’s not probable but it’s possible and just the thought of them getting it and passing it on to the rest of the family is frightening.

No word yet on canceling Halloween out here. What an adjustment school-aged children have had to endure. What an adjustment we’ve all had to endure.

Here’s to finding a safe and effective cure SOON.
Be safe. Be well. Be kind.

MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
(Note to self)

  1. Lots of thankful things and I love those masks. I laughed out loud.

You and I both love Amazon.

I love the quote on the last graphic. That’s so true.

Have a fabulous day and week, Karen. Love you bunches. ♥

    1. I’m trying to focus on the thankful things more often than not. – Omg Sandee… Amazon is going to turn me into a hoarder! I seriously just need to stop ordering but… I have no excuse I just dig Amazon and there will always be something that catches my eye than someone I know needs or that I need. It’s addicting. – I love you bunches too Sandee. I hope you’re having a great week. ❤

    1. Thank you Mimi and I am quite certain none of this is a surprise to God and I often think how disappointed He must be… He gave us everything and His only Son and look what we’ve done… I’m ashamed of my own self.

    1. Amazon always does gang busters but I think Target and Walmart are getting into the free shipping thing so there may be a battle. – My sister and her hubs usually have cornish hens for Thanksgiving too.

  2. Love the poem. I don’t come here very often because the blog takes so long to load, then as soon as I start scrolling, the loading circle begins again.

    1. Oh. Sorry about that River. I’ve got everything on my blog as streamlined as possible and I haven’t had this issue with other visitors. So weird. – I’ll be happy to see you when I see you then!

  3. I am a crockpot fanatic. I have Korean beef cooking in mine right now for some delicious tacos tonight. And I made a chicken chili with cornbread last week. So good!

Yes on having fresh water. We are Great Lakes Girls, aren’t we? I do love the people I’ve met blogging. So cool to get to know people all over the world. I used to follow a surfer in Australia, but he disappeared on me. I have a feeling his wife didn’t like him blogging with a bunch of middle aged women. LOL!

    1. Omg. I know, right? I loooove my crockpot and my instant pot too but I think I prefer my crockpot. That Korean beef sounds sooo yummy. In my crockpot today will be beef stew. These cool temps have me in the kitchen more than I probably should be but it’s fall and fall for me is all about the kitchen. – I am a Great Lake girl through and through and I do so miss them. – Getting to know people around the globe is the best but ya’ know as I’ve been blogging since forever I’ve narrowed my blog crew down, some by choice others who just dropped off for whatever reason. Blogging definitely isn’t what it used to be. It’s like the minute people thought they could make money and/or started counting followers and all that bullshit, old school blogging just kinda’ went away and I miss those times too.

  4. In about 20 years, we’re going to have all sorts of coming-of-age stories with kiddos stuck at home. They hate it now, but they’ll get nostalgic for it when they reach adulthood. The stories that will come out of this time will be phenomenal. But yeah, Halloween and Thanksgiving are going to suck big time.

    1. I agree. The stories will be phenomenal and just so, so weird… No graduations, proms, sports… It’s like we’re living in the Twilight Zone.

  5. Hi Kare, it’s been a while, but I’m dipping my toe back into the Blogosphere. Nice list of things to be thankful for! I agree wholeheartedly about people not wearing their masks properly, but those are sure to stay in place. 😀 We had our Thanksgiving holiday last week, and large family gatherings were not sanctioned here. Halloween trick or treating is also being cancelled in the COVID “hot spots” like Toronto. Not looking good for Christmas, I fear. Sigh…

    1. Welcome back!!! 😀 – How weird was Thanksgiving for you? I think even if you’re not a big family gathering it’s still a weird vibe out there, ya’ know? Happy Thanksgiving, belated. I will be so glad when this year is over – I think…

  6. Karen, I’m so sorry that you have a family member possibly exposed to Covid! I hope all turns out OK and I’m sending lots of prayers!!

Covid cases are on the rise here again and our county has advised children not to go out trick-or-treating, just have small Halloween parties. I feel really bad for the children, especially the little ones, but better to be safe.

I like those leggings, that is a great find. I’m going to check them out. And I am with you on the size of vitamins! Mimi’s Thought for the Day is a note to me, too. Have a great week! 🙂

    1. Thank you Madilyn. You know, the waiting for those test results is the worst. I guess waiting for any test results, right? – Those leggings are great. I got the long ones and I love them and they’re sooo soft!
