THURSDAY 13 – Streaming

This week, my 13 things are shows that I’m currently streaming because they’re sooo good!

Well, I think it’s safe to say that I love my British detective shows. Shetland and Brokenwood Mysteries are my favorites by far, and Vera, who is not in the list because she ended her 14 seasons and I watched every one. I was sad to see that show end. Elsbeth is a fun show, as is Ghosts. Watson is my favorite medical show at the moment, although my son tells me to watch The Pitt, but I don’t know about that. I hear it’s pretty gory, and I don’t like gory. I promised myself a kinder and gentler year in 2026, and gore is neither kind nor gentle.
Side note: I don’t sit and binge-watch these. Lol. I watch them over time and/or they’re just on in the background while I’m doing other things.

It’s after 10pm and time for me to wind it down and go to bed. It’s been a productive Thursday for me, mainly just housework stuff and setting up more play dates with my physical therapist. Lol.

I hope you’ve all had a good Thursday, one more day to the weekend. Man, those words used to mean so much when I was younger and so excited for “one more day to the weekend.” Now, I’m like, one more day to the weekend, okay. I’m down for a craft show, dinner, a movie, Edwards Greenhouse pretty much anything, as long as I’m back home by 9pm so I can shower and get ready for bed! Lol.

I have no plans for the weekend. We’ve got a cold bug going around the house, so it’s soup and tea, and water and rest. So far I’ve been spared, so I’m very thankful (Thursday) for that. I hope all of you are well!

  1. I like The Brokenwood Mysteries though I haven’t seen very much of it and I LOVE My Life is Murder. I have heard of some of the others but not all. I tried to watch Shetland but can’t understand the accents. I will try again one day. Have you seen The Chelsea Detective? That’s a good one.

    1. The Brokenwood Mysteries were one of my first Acorn faves. I like everything about that show including the music which is kinda quirky. My Life Is Murder is great! Shetland, I’ve watched all of the shows and as of last night, I’m all caught up on The Chelsea Detective. There’s something about that lit’l short red head that I find so appealing. Lol.

  3. Well, I’d love to hang out with you, but NOT watching TV! LOL! I am strictly a reality TV show girl. I love Traitors, Southern Charm, Summer House, Plathville. The only scripted show I’ve watched in the last year is The White Lotus.

    The Agatha Christie quote is epic! I feel as though my own detective skills are pretty damn good!

    1. Hahahahaha! All of those shows are on Peacock and I don’t have that streaming service. I have watched reality shows and I always think, these people can’t be that stupid. Lol. Idk. I’ll check into some and see what I like.

  4. I watched season 1 of School Spirits, but I was kinda ticked at how that finished, so I’ve been hesitant to start season 2. (I mean, of course she had to be alive, sorta. Totally made sense. But her friend felt so betrayed…)

    Right now I’ve been watching Lioness with my father (Paramount +), and I’ve been enjoying that. We watch 1-2 shows a week. We just started season 2.

    1. I know, I thought that same thing. It’s finally back and I haven’t watched the latest episode yet. I’m kinda’ stuck on FBI right now. Lol. I’ve seen Lioness on Paramount and I thought it might be good. I’ll have to put that on my list. My kids keep trying to get me to watch the show The Pitt but I’m dragging my feet.

      1. Lioness is so good. Spy show. They recruit a young marine to infiltrate a target’s family. So, she makes friends with the guy’s daughter with orders to kill the guy if she meets him. It’s exciting and scary and violent.

  6. Britbox and Acorn have some great shows! We watch Harry Wild and My Life is Murder too. There’s also Death in Paradise, which has been running for many years. Elsbeth, High Potential and Ghosts are also favourites, as well as The Rookie and Matlock.

    Our dog has issues with her liver, and we took her to have an ultrasound Thursday ($$$$). Fortunately, the news was better than expected – no tumour, just an infection. Whew! She should be fine after a course of antibiotics.
