SEPTEMBER, you’re finally here.

While the fires rage on and the temps are finally getting into the 80s and 70s, September is a soft landing space. September is the promise of wonderful days ahead. Cooler temps, hopefully some rain, beautiful colors, and endless days of cuddling and snuggling – whatever that means to you. To me, that means I’ll be snuggling in with my pup, a good book, and a cup of tea. (My cuddling is private but he’s very handsome.)

I was MIA for a while, and the only thing I brought back with me was sadness and tears and a whole lot of the funniest memories of my life, and it’s laughing so hard that you pee a little that gets you through. Laughter is life’s healing balm.

This I know for sure.

Trust me. We do not have time.

Side Note –  Make sure the person who holds the power of attorney puts his mom before a fishing trip with his buddies. (That kid has been a jackass since birth.)

So, here I am, and I hope at least some of you are still with me. I hope you’re all doing great and are happy as can be and are healthy as can be too! That’s the big one!
Life gets crazy sometimes; things happen out of the blue and knock you on your ass. Whatta ya gonna do? You get up and grab your crochet and crochet the hell outta all those unfinished projects! At least that’s what I do. On my bed, watching The Closer.

Fall has finally arrived and brought me back to life. Summer is a bummer for me. I like fall and winter; sometimes spring, but never, ever summer.
Has fall arrived for any of you? Are you welcoming the “ber” months, or are they a bummer for you? Let me know what your favorite time of year is down in the comments. I have a feeling there are a lot of sun worshippers out there.

  1. Welcome back, Karen! 🎉 I’m so sorry you’ve been through rough times (and tragedy?) and offer you tea (or booze) and sympathy.💖 I know you’re not a fan of summer, so things should be looking up for you, weather-wise. We are having another hot and humid spell this week. As much as I love summer, the high humidity is an issue, and makes it hard to breathe. Here’s to a lovely fall season for all of us! 🍂

    1. Thank you, Debbie. Tea would be wonderful. That’s my fall drink, sometimes with booze in it. 😂 I can’t believe you’re having hot and humid weather. That stinks! I know what you mean about that humidity. Michigan is sooooo humid it’s like you have to cut a hole in the atmosphere to stick your nose out and breathe! Going outside and you immediately get that Mother Nature shower because everything feels damp. It’s fall for us right now and I am loooooving it! I hope your humidity calms itself down.

  2. The “ber” months are spring and early summer in Australia and unbearable with my hayfever unless I take double doses of antihistamine while the pollens are active. Autumn here is much kinder to me, in March, April, May and June.

    1. Oh, hayfever and allergies are the worst! I’m sorry you suffer with that. I had kids with spring allergies and one that had winter allergies. None of the medicines for them ever seemed to work, and they were given by our family doctor. What is your December like? Any relief there?

  3. I was shocked to see your post this morning!!! I am sorry for all you and yours went through for the past six months, but I hope the end of the year is looking better. You’re so right – if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything.

I am a summer girlie, but we are in the middle of another wave of heat and humidity here, so not sure you’d love our Septembers. We’ve done a lot of traveling since the beginning of May and that is one of my favorite things besides the SUN! I truly hate being cold.

Every time someone mentions that they take CBD gummies, I think of you and chuckle. BEST post EVER! XO

    1. Oh, I’m still tearing up, but this is going to sound horrible, but I’m so glad to be out of the drama. My friend is gone; anything else going on is not my thing. I did as she asked and was honored to do so. I just don’t know why surviving family members find it so difficult to honor the wishes of their person who died. The idea that “they’re dead, they won’t know” is bullshit and disrespectful to the person who died. And I know I told you I wasn’t going to blog about everything, and I won’t, but I had to share with you; the disrespect and insanity just flowed. One of the kids was texting everyone, “I got a keg; c’mon over.” – Their mom was killed by a drunk driver. It just made me sick. And so, yes, I am so glad to be out of that drama.

I know you’re one of the sun worshippers, and you can have that heat and humidity. I grew up in Michigan, surrounded by the Great Lakes, the humidity, and the mosquitos. No thanks, but I do miss the thunderstorms and the lightning, waiting to see if the wind was going to blow one of our trees down. Lol. When I was super little, I would go outside and sit in the middle of the backyard with my bubble umbrella over me, watching the storms come in. When it started lighting, my mom would call me in. Of course, when you’re a kid, you have no idea that the tip of your super cool bubble umbrella was like a lightning rod. Lol.

Every time someone mentions CBD gummies, I tell them how my son tried to kill me! Lol

      1. OMG on that ‘kid.’ That makes me sick as well. My husband and I were disturbed by the actions of two of his sisters when his parents were in their end days. We cut them out of our lives and it has been so nice to not have to deal with that drama.

        1. Right???? We dealt with disturbing behavior the hospital. It was so embarrassing and the disrespect. I just said my private good-byes and I was done and so was all of their drama. It’s sad things get to that point but it was years in the making.

  4. I’m sorry. It sounds like you had a rough time. I’m happiest once it cools down. It’s supposed to be in the 90s this week, so nope, not cooled down yet.

    1. The 90s? Ugh. We’ve got 88 today but I think it’s mostly 70’s from here on out. I like the early morning chll so I can sit out back, drink my coffee, do a little reading and listen to the chickens. Chickens are LOUD and so are the squirrels!
