Currently I’m sitting here waiting for news about our little pup, Bo. He was outside in the backyard and came in the house limping and crying, so off to the vet he went! I hope it’s just a thorn in his paw and not something more serious like a broken ankle from playing on the stairs of the deck. As Tom Petty sang, “The waiting is the hardest part.

$350 stinger! Yep, Bo got stung by a bee! Good Lord. The vet took him back and checked his bones and joints first, and looking him over, she found the source of his pain. She pulled the stinger out and set Bo down, and he was standing and walking just fine, and Bo even danced for her and jumped up on the vet bed to play! He was fine as wine. He ran down the hall wagging his tail happy as could be, but as soon as he saw his “Mom and Dad” (my son and DIL), he stopped dead in his tracks, pulled his hurt leg up, and started limping to them! The vet and nurses couldn’t believe it. They said they’ve never had a dog like our Bo in there before. He is such a little stinker. I swear he’s part human. He loves walking straight up on his hind legs. It’s wild! He’s wild!
Well, friends, I need to get this posted and head to bed. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day, with zero problems with your fur babies. I’ll probably write more later. Who knows, but if there’s anything thrilling and spine-chilling happening, please tell me about them in the comments.

It’s always heart-wrenching and nerve-wracking when our fur babies get sick or hurt! 🥺 I’m glad little Bo is okay. How clever of him to keep playing the sympathy card, though. 😄 High prices are par for the course with vet bills, nowadays. Our Zoey got bit by a coyote a few years ago, and it cost us $1500, but we were just grateful she recovered. Could have been much worse! I will be taking care of two little Havanese dogs starting tomorrow for three weeks. Although I’m retired, I kept this one legacy client, because she practically begged me to keep looking after her babies. Zoey loves them and the extra cash is welcome, so win-win. :D
Debbie, this comment has been sitting in my spam folder, so I apologize for that. – Omgosh, is it heart-wrenching and fortunately this trip ended with a sigh of relief and laughter. And yeah, the vet bills, and every time I think, I wish there was some decent pet insurance, and then I remember, we don’t even have decent human insurance. It’s crazy. – I think that’s very nice that you kept your client on. I bet she’s so happy. I would be. It’s hard to find good pet people to leave our fur babies with. It would be like having to change day care centers for our kids. – I’m happy you’re able to do that and I’m happy Zoey approves. The cash is always nice. Definitely a win-win.
Heeheehee! I’m very sorry he got stung, but for heaven’s sake, limping when he saw mom and dad is just too much. A friend of mine had a dog which would limp when he wanted attention as he found he got plenty of it the time he actually did hurt his leg, so pretending to be hurt again was his go-to when he thought he was being ignored.
Dogs, and animals in general are so smart, aren’t they? And dogs are so much like kids to me. So weird he got stung, I thought all the bugs had retreated. – Happy Weekend, Mimi.

We had another ridiculous storm here last night, but thankfully didn’t lose power. We are looking into getting a whole house generator.
It is crazy! We’ve had him since he was a baby and we haven’t taught him any tricks or anything. I swear he’s part human, part cat, part dog. He loves to walk around standing up like he’s a person and he sits on the back of the couch and in the window like he’s a cat. He’s also so in tune to our moods. He’s definitely a gift. My other dog, Luci, sniffed out my cancer and when it came back she sniffed it out again! My Luci was my soulmate. Omg. I’m one of those dog people but she really was my person. – Those storms were wicked! I had to check on my 2 kids who live downstate and primarily the one who just recently got an apt in an older Detroit building. Those buildings are pretty and they have cool old stuff in them but they’re still old and that makes me worry. Everybody was okay and I’m happy you guys were okay. My kids never lost power either. My brother has a whole house generator. They’re nice to have.
