Ugh. There is nothing special about being wide awake at 3am.
MY “SPECIAL” MORNING
- Shower.
- Laundry because apparently, this an everyday thing in our house.
I remember my mom had one day a week that she did laundry on. I don’t know how she did it with a husband and 7 children but we always had clean clothes.
Maybe we just had more clothes. - Coffee, coffee, and more coffee!!
- Listening to my dog snore.
- Listening to the news.
- Watering plants.
- Fixing breakfast.
- Texting with my little sister who got my message from last night in the wee hours of this morning. I swear she lives in the witness protection program.
- Social media. Facebook, Instagram, blogging.
- Crafting
- Sewing
I know. Be jealous.
(That up there was the start of my Tuesday post that I never got around to finishing.)
So. Happy Wednesday!
I hope you’re all happy and enjoying the midweek, if not, well, the weekend is just around the corner!
So, on Monday I did a poll regarding your sources for “reliable” news.
The survey showed that most of you rely on “other” sources rather than the mainstream sources. Of course, now, my question to that is, what is the “other” source?
It was interesting to see that almost none of you relied on social media as a source and that’s where I found the “news article” that sparked my curiosity regarding detention centers, which, for the record, scare the hell outta’ me.
It’s like a never-ending vicious cycle isn’t it?? I just want the truth.
You’re probably right Jack…
IN OTHER NEWS –
I’m making progress on my baby quilt. Not as much as I’d like, you know, because of that thing called life… Right now I’m in the arrangement stage of the quilt top. The back will just be pink terry cloth.
There is no method to my madness just whatever I think goes where. One day I’ll follow a quilt pattern – maybe.
This is a combo scrappy and string quilt. I just used pieces of fabric from my stash.
I really am trying to deplete the totes of fabric and yarn that I have.
Said no sewing/crochet/knitting person ever.
It’s going to be near 90 degrees today so maybe I’ll finish my quilt and a couple of other projects because the chances of me being outside today are zero.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, embrace the day! Unless it’s a shitty day then just have a good cry, a good beer, a good glass of wine, a bubble bath, a hot shower, a bottle of vodka. Whatever works.
MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
Be well.
MiMi
Today is spa day for me. Nails and toes and then to Raley’s for a few grocery items. Nothing much today, but it will be hot here too.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Karen. Love and hugs. ā„

Your day sounds almost as exciting as mine . . . almost! LOL! I woke up at 3 am to drive my spouse to the airport. Nothing like an early morning departure line to start your day. Even driving by an airport stresses me out! I did take a walk with a neighbor later in the morning, but otherwise just doing laundry, cleaning bathrooms and wasting time on social media!

MM Mimi,
I normally get up early because DH likes being at the office well before rush hour. There are so many crazies on the road that it’s crazy. This morning I got up earlier than usual because he wanted to go in half an hour earlier to build a little extra comp time for his upcoming doctor appointment. I’ll probably crash well before 9pm rolls around, too. Your quilt is looking nice. I’d love to give quilting a try someday. I don’t have to do laundry every day now that the kids are all out of the house. It used to be an everyday affair. I’m glad that’s behind me now. It really cuts down on the water/electric bill a lot. Thanks for dropping by today. Have a good evening, my friend!

Omgosh. Because Idaho makes every “best” list out there we’ve had an influx of sooooooo many people! Our slow 35mph traffic thru town is now like the autobahn. Tons of crazies on the road for sure! – Lately, I’ve been attempting to get back into my old schedule of in bed – ready for sleeping not reading – by 10pm and up at 5am. It has always worked for me but man has insomnia gotten a hold of me. My sleep is in 2-hour increments and that totally sucks. – I can’t wait to finish this quilt! I’ve already got the next one in my head. š – Laundry every single stinkin’ day. I’m surprised I don’t have nightmares about it! – I hope you’re having a great week thus far! Almost time for the weekend!

Insomnia is the WORST thing – you have my sympathy. I can sleep for England on the sofa around 8pm but the second I drag myself upstairs to bed, I spring to lifeš„“ It’s not so bad at the moment but I do have those nights. And I don’t like to get up to do stuff as Garry is up early for work and needs his sleep. My ‘other source” for news is my mother, she regurgitates it from her iPad and I dismiss it all as manipulative bull crap. That quilt! It’s so beautiful. It must be so satisfying getting those lovely neat seams – just gorgeous. If I made quilts like that, I would never let them go! But there is no chance of that happening! And Jack is ALWAYS right, because he’s Jack Nicholson. Here’s Jonny! š±

I think insomnia is just part of my life now. The only time I ever get good sleep is with NyQuil. Hahaha. I know they have Zquil now and that works but I’m not a fan of medicating myself more than I need to. – Hopefully tonight I’ll finish up the top of the quilt, fingers, eyes, and toes all crossed! I’m also working on a crochet Christmas blanket too. I’m hoping they both finish at the same time! That would be fantastic.

Thank you, MiMi. I’m making it up as I go. No telling what the final quilt will be.

Compared to yours, my mornings are positively sloth-like. It’s amazing how lazy I’ve become since retiring.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night and spent 3 hours reading. I should have done the laundry! I am so tired today, but am hoping for a better night tonight. Iām certainly not as productive as you have been!

Omgosh. I’ve been trying to get my reading in. I’m so behind on my self imposed book challenge and I would really like to be able to cross that off of my list at least once.

I used to stay up late just to be able to get things done but I’m trying to put myself on a sleep schedule that is apparently not working.
