Rainy Days & Mondays – Brain Dump

It’s raining.
It’s Monday.
It’s 3:40am.
I’m in my nightgown.
My nails are painted in Halloween colors that sparkle. It’s hard to take a pic of your own hand.
I will change that/those colors a million times before Halloween.
I’ve got laundry going.
I’m deciding whether or not to cut my hair off again.
Maybe this will help.
Only one appt. today. Yay!
Thinking about making this awesomeness today.
Looks and sounds delish.
I’ll let you know how it tastes!
Omgosh. The weekend here was amazing. The temps dropped, it rained… And a few Halloween decorations may or may not have gone up… I know. I know.
Some people think it’s too soon and we’re rushing it. I just think we get to enjoy it longer!

How was your weekend? What’d everybody do???
Are any of you early decorators for the holidays?
What’s your favorite holiday?
Okay. I’m off to visit everyone and continue with the laundry.
Only one more load. Woo hoo!
I hope you have a great start to your week and that the whole week is filled with more highs than lows. More smiles than frowns. More laughter than tears.
Be well.

  1. Good morning, Karen! Up at 330am and doing laundry….girl, you DO know how to live life right on the edge. But, I’ve been there, too.
The soup looks yummy, even at 7am. I hope you let us know how it turns out. I may have to try it. The cooler temperatures definitely makes me want to make more soups and stews.
Hope all goes well with your appointment today. Only good news, right!
    Take good care. Blessed be.

    • Hahaha. Yes! Ssshh. I don’t want it to get around about how hip I am living so dangerously! – I am SO ready for soups and stews! I hope that season sticks around a while. – My appt went well, it’s therapy. My doc (psychiatrist) is soooo funny and she totally gets me and it works. 🙂 – You take care of you! I need to swing by and visit and make a lunch date! I miss you bunches. How’s everything with you??? We definitely need to catch up. ❤

  2. I’ve made 3 variations of that soup and loved them all! Enjoy! My fave holiday is Valentine’s Day because I’m not required to make a meal for a houseful of people. Plus, I love chocolate, flowers and sex – LOL!!!!

  3. Loved your little recap (and those fingernail colours!) No halloween decorations here. I’m in Australia and we’re catching up on halloween fast – but I’m resistant to small children begging for lollies so I leave it to the people who enjoy that sort of thing – I’m more of a Christmas kind of gal.

    • Thank you, Leanne. And I totally get any other country besides the U.S. not wanting to participate in Halloween. It can go overboard real quick. I am a Christmas gal too. I love my snow and Christmas music and everything so sparkly! 🙂

  4. It’s raining here too!!!! How can that be? Oh yeah, clouds 😂. 3.40am?! Was that you still up from the night before or you getting up ultra early? Either way, I’m impressed with your stamina! I had laundry going too, and now it’s just sitting there in the laundry basket, all damp, going nowhere because IT’S RAINING!!!!! 🙄 I refuse to use the tumble dryer because it’s only SEPTEMBER! What did you decide about your hair? My favourite holiday is Christmas but only because Garry gets 10 days off and I want the world to stop so it goes on forever. Apart from that, I despise all the hype and spending in the name of religion, its bonkers. Have a great week!

    • I opened my eyes and saw it was almost 3am. Had my alarm set for 4am so I just got up, jumped in the shower and started my day. 🙂 – I wish I had a clothesline again. There is nothing like the smell on sheets in off the line. 🙂 – Well, I didn’t get my hair cut today soooo. Maybe another day. Could go either way at this point. I’m sure it’ll come off soon. – Christmas is my favorite too, even better for you. 🙂 I’m not a fan of all of the hype either and I feel so sorry for parents today especially in this seemingly whining, fit throwing, entitled world we live in today.

  5. How was your weekend? Quiet and peaceful.

What’d everybody do? We stayed home and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful.

Are any of you early decorators for the holidays? We used to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, but we don’t decorate anymore. Falling off ladders is not my idea of a good time.

What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas is hands down the most favorite holiday.

Have a fabulous day and week, Karen. Love and hugs. ♥

    • Quiet and peaceful is always nice. I strive for that daily. Christmas is mine too! When the kids were little we would decorate with the first snow of Boise. If we didn’t get the snow we too would decorate the day after Thanksgiving which is when most people decorate since forever. 🙂 Easy day today and I’ve kinda’ arranged my week to be the same so go me. Doesn’t always work out that way. – I hope your day has been wonderful and your week ahead will be easy peasy. 🙂 xoxoxo

  6. Love the brightly-coloured nails! 👌 You really are a fan of Halloween! 😄 It’s chilly enough for soup, here. I’d love to know how it turns out. Looks delicious!

We went to a neighbourhood outdoor concert on Saturday night and did experience some drizzle, on and off. No biggie, since we had an oversized umbrella. Worth it, to see Sass Jordan, Canada’s Queen of Rock. She was in fine form! ❤

Have a good, restful week! I can't imagine doing chores at 3:40 am. 😲 (Writing or reading a blog post, maybe. 😄)

    • Hahahahahaha. “Writing or reading a blog post, maybe.” Hahahahaha. But laundry isn’t really chores. Aside from the sorting and folding it pretty much does itself. 🙂 – That concert sounds cool even with the rain. Had to look her up and listen to some of her music. I LOVE that gritty sound. – Hhhhmm. Restful… I’m gonna’ have to look that up too. 🙂

  7. I love your nails and your ring is pretty too. I don’t decorate for holidays anymore, I only ever did Christmas decorations anyway, but there’s nowhere here to put a tree where the cat can’t get to it. I have a couple of miniature glittery wire trees that used to sit on the windowsill for the Christmas week, but that’s become Lola’s favourite spot in the sun. We’ve had a few rainy days here, but rarely heavy enough to keep people inside and now we’re heading towards summer, so it’s time to pack away the umbrellas.

    • Thank you so much. 🙂 – It’s challenging to decorate for holidays when you have a curious cat which I think compares to curious children and dogs. 🙂 I always tuck small Christmassy things around the house so that every room has a bit of Christmas all year long. 🙂 – Wow. So weird to think you’re heading into summer… Enjoy those sunny days!

  8. Hi Karen! I’ve been missing your blog because of all my computer problems. I haven’t even been on FB that much. I bought a nice new laptop on sale but then the transfer of files has been tedious and frustrating. And time consuming! I work freelance from home on editing and office projects, so I have a lot of programs and files, along with all the photographs I take, all on one computer for both work and personal use. I’m still trying to get everything transferred properly from the old to the new computer. It’s a nice break to go to your blog and see pretty painted Halloween nails! (Even though I really cannot think about Halloween just yet LOL!)

Did you make the chicken taco soup? I like Halloween but my favorite holiday is Christmas. I especially love the Christmas lights and Christmas carols. Mimi’s thought for the day is perfect! Have a great week! 🙂

    • Oh, I’ve been there with all of that transferring of data especially pics. I have external hard drives that I store stuff on. I hope you get that taken care of soon. It’s such a pain. – I haven’t made the soup yet. Probably this weekend. 😊 – Also… Once you get your computer set up maybe we’ll see a blog post… 😊
