MARCH – LION, OR LAMB?

Does anyone remember learning in school about the arrival of March?
We learned if March came in like a lamb it would go out like a lion, but if it came in like a lion it would go out like a lamb. According to our weatherman our March is coming in like a lamb with lots of sunshine and spring-like temps and I’m all about that!

Once again, I’ve been away. Once again, no motivation. I’m still feeling like I’ve got nutthin’.

But hey!!
I’m hoping to get some traveling in this year. I am missing my kiddo and grand-kiddos back east SOOOO much. Thank goodness for Facetime/Skype/Duo. All great apps to keep me seeing those beautiful faces and hearing those precious voices and tho it’s better than nothing it’s not enough! Now they need to invent an app that will allow me to reach thru the screen and get some hugs and kisses and go to band concerts, sporting events, and dance!!

I trust you’re all getting along well out in your corners of the world.
Our first week of March is supposed to be filled with lots of sunshine and warmer temps. I’ll take it! Of course, there’s probably a couple of snowstorms coming in behind it but I don’t care. I just need a few days to feel the sunshine on my face and to hit those trails again! I’d love to see some flowers peeking out, but that’s probably too much to hope for.
Did you know that the flower for the month of March is the daffodil?

The flower of rebirth and new beginnings.
Do any of you have daffodils popping up? They’re usually the first flower I see around here, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them this early.

JUST A REMINDER – “A gift of daffodils is said to suggest good luck, however, if it is just a single bloom gifted this instead is supposed to foretell misfortune so take care when giving daffodils as gifts!”

One of those gifts where you have to choose to use your powers for good or evil.

I wish I had more exciting stuff to write about, but it’s just not happening in my corner of the world. We’ve had some crazy weather like most parts of the country and I am so looking forward to the warmer temps.

I have found some new shows to watch and if you have time you might want to schedule these in.

NETFLIX –
Waiting on season 2 of this show and not very patiently. Of course, there are the books to read, but I don’t want to spoil alert my own self! I can hardly wait, but I will wait.

CBS –
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this one because I didn’t think anyone could play Clarice other than Jodie Foster. I was wrong. This girl is a good choice. She’s definitely got that slight southern tone mastered.

It’s a good show and I hope CBS doesn’t cancel it but if they do, there’s always Netflix, right? It can always be brought back to life there.

HGTV
I just love this little couple Ben and Erin Napier. They’re from Laurel, Miss. and they’re beautifying their little town one abandoned house at a time.

This is a fun show to watch. Nothing stressful, nothing scary, no edge-of-the-seat stuff just a fun show. If you’re not watching, I highly recommend that you do.

So, those are a few of the shows I’m watching these days, what about you? Do you have any faves you’d like to share and recommend? You know what to do, just drop ’em in the comments so we can all see what’s on your screens.

I’ve been early spring cleaning all things crafting/sewing/yarn and now I need to use them all up! I promised myself that I wouldn’t purchase any more craft stuff until I’ve made a dent in what I already have and I’m happy to say I’ve kept that promise!

I know it’s been a minute but I would love to hear what everyone has been up to and if you’d care to share that would be great.
I’ve missed you!!

  1. So good to see you! I’m so happy that we’ve seen the sun a few times recently. We get so excited when we see it! Lol. Here’s what I’m currently watching. Please don’t judge: Superstore, Below Deck, Real Housewives of Dallas, Grownish, and The Challenge Double Agents. Still bingeing Mad Men, but only a few episodes per week. I don’t do Hallmark or scary sh*t!

    1. Thank you! It’s good to be seen! 😀 – Yessss. The sun shining is the best. Especially now. We didn’t have a horrible winter but I’m just done with the cold, gray, drab days. – Okay. I’m seriously going to ATTEMPT to sit thru at least two of those Housewives shows because I feel like maybe I need to see if maybe they’ll grow on me, I don’t know. Superstore is on my list. I have no idea what Below Deck is or The Challenge Double Agents but I’ll check those out. I love Mad Men and I’ve watched it a few times all the way thru. 🙂 I can’t believe they ended it. I don’t do scary either but I do The Good Witch on Hallmark and there was one other show. I don’t even know if it’s on anymore. Cedar Cove? It was good but the acting was terrible so I couldn’t watch it all the time.

      1. I only like the Dallas one now. I used to watch more cities but the OGs are gone and I didn’t like the replacements.

  2. I have been blogging again. I do remember the saying and hope it does not go out like a lion. I am ready to garden. I hear you about missing children and grandchildren. I miss my Mom as well. I want to watch Firefly but will have to without the husband. We are watching Clarice. Another good one is Big Sky on ABC.

    1. I’m ready to see flowers, flowers, and more flowers! And maybe do some gardening… Just to be outside in the sun is wonderful. – I am missing my kids and grands back east sooo much. I am so hoping we can be traveling again soon!

  3. Our March seems to be behaving just like yours so far. Of course we are only two days into it and heading for autumn while you are heading for spring, so as you warm up, we’ll be getting cooler.

    1. Oh man… I’m so jealous. I’ll take fall over spring any day! You’ll have to take pics to post of all of the beautiful colors! 🙂

  4. It’s you, it’s really you. I was thinking about you last night and wondering why you haven’t posted in a while. It’s great to hear from you and yes March came in like a lamb. I’m ready for it too.

We are all well here, just not doing much. Oh well at least we’re okay. We too miss our babies. Hope to see them soon.

Have a fabulous day and week, honey. Love you bunches. ♥

    1. Hahaha. Yes. It’s really me! I’m so happy to know that you are well, aside from missing those babies. Man, it just feels like forever… I step away from social media from time to time. I’m trying to figure out the best way to ditch FB and Insta and still maintain connections. Hahahaha. I know it’s possible… 🙂 – I’ve missed you so much… I’m so happy to be back! – Love you bunches too my friend. ❤

  5. I had a grade school teacher do the in like a lion/out like a lamb thing with the class. Our weather really isn’t like that, though.

At the beginning of February, I watched Ted Lasso, and I recommend it highly. Alas, it is on Apple +, so that limits its reach. If you can, watch it. It’s sweet and hilarious.

  6. Our March came in like a lion, with gale-force winds and bitter cold. It can only get better from there, we hope! You’re not alone with the “no motivation” vibe. I will park the blog for a while when the pre-scheduled posts run out next week. Others are likely feeling the same way. You have your crafting, and I have photography to keep that creative flow going. Here’s hoping travel will become normal again this year! They say things will be much better by summer, but who knows? Firefly Lane was binge-worthy and I’m looking forward to season two. I haven’t seen Clarice, but The Equalizer is a favourite new network show. It stars Queen Latifah and is a reboot of a 1980s series, which featured a male lead. Latifah totally rocks! Prodigal Son and Pennyworth are a couple of other faves. Zoey is keeping me busy enough. She’s young and has a few behavioural issues (rescue dog) which we are working on. Reading lots of dog training articles! Hope your good weather lasts. Cheers!

    1. I hope your weather gets way better! The winds don’t bother me as much as that bitter cold. You step outside and it feels like your face is going to crack! I definitely don’t miss those temps.. I am so thankful for my crafting. It’s the only thing that keeps me sane. That and the idea that I may have an Etsy shop in the fall.. We’ll see. – I keep forgetting about Queen Latifah in the Equalizer! I need to set a reminder because I really want to see it. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of Prodigal Son or Pennyworth. I’ll check ’em out. – I’m jealous of Zoey… I keep toying with the idea of getting another dog but I’m not there yet and I don’t know if I ever will be again. Luci still fills my heart sooo much and I know I’ll never have another her and she was just so perfect… Plus, all those behavioral issues that come along with a pup. 🙂 Hopefully, you’ll get some great weather and you can do some of that training out in the sunshine!

  7. I remember that about March with the lion and the lamb. March came in very cold and rainy here but no snow. I hope that by the end of the month, we can start seeing spring. And I hope you get an early spring too! Yes to traveling! I hope you will be able to travel to see your kids and grandkids, and I’m hoping I can travel later this summer too to see my family in New Jersey.

Daffodils are lovely and we usually see them in April here. I had planted daffodils as well as tulips but I’m not sure how many will actually come up because squirrels often dig up the bulbs. Did not know that about daffodils as a gift!

I intend to check out Clarice. About Hometown, would you believe my hubby loves that show? LOL! That’s where I first heard about it. He told me all about this great couple and the houses they renovate. I haven’t watched a full episode yet myself but I’ll do that.

Have you seen the new tv show Debris? I just saw the first episode this week. It’s on NBC. Spooky stuff going on and it was really good! I recommend it.

I just wrote my first flash fiction story and submitted it to the Women on Writing fiction contest. Whether or not I win (and I’m not really expecting to win since it’s my first fiction and in these competitions, I’m always competing with more polished writers), I had fun creating the story. I’m also working on a nonfiction essay to enter into their spring essay contest. Another project for me is putting some of my photos up for sale on a site I saw advertised called PicFair.

    Happy March, Karen! 🙂
