THURSDAY 13 – Streaming

This week, my 13 things are shows that I’m currently streaming because they’re sooo good!

1.)    (SHETLAND – Britbox)

2.)    (BLUE LIGHTS – Britbox)

3.)    (AFTER THE FLOOD – Britbox)

4.)    (GRACE – Britbox)

5.)    (MIDSOMER MURDERS – Acorn)

6.)    (HARRY WILD – Acorn)

7.)    (MY LIFE IS MURDER – Acorn)

8.)    (THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES – Acorn)

9.)    (ELSBETH – CBS/Paramount+)

10.) (HIGH POTENTIAL – CBS/Paramount+

11.) (GHOSTS – CBS/Paramount+)

12.) (SCHOOL SPIRITS – Showtime/Paramount+)

13.) (WATSON – CBS/Paramount+)

Well, I think it’s safe to say that I love my British detective shows. Shetland and Brokenwood Mysteries are my favorites by far, and Vera, who is not in the list because she ended her 14 seasons and I watched every one. I was sad to see that show end. Elsbeth is a fun show, as is Ghosts. Watson is my favorite medical show at the moment, although my son tells me to watch The Pitt, but I don’t know about that. I hear it’s pretty gory, and I don’t like gory. I promised myself a kinder and gentler year in 2026, and gore is neither kind nor gentle.
Side note: I don’t sit and binge-watch these. Lol. I watch them over time and/or they’re just on in the background while I’m doing other things.

What are your favorite shows to watch? Comedies, dramas, thrillers??? Let me know down in the comments.

It’s after 10pm and time for me to wind it down and go to bed. It’s been a productive Thursday for me, mainly just housework stuff and setting up more play dates with my physical therapist. Lol.

I hope you’ve all had a good Thursday, one more day to the weekend. Man, those words used to mean so much when I was younger and so excited for “one more day to the weekend.” Now, I’m like, one more day to the weekend, okay. I’m down for a craft show, dinner, a movie, Edwards Greenhouse pretty much anything, as long as I’m back home by 9pm so I can shower and get ready for bed! Lol.

I have no plans for the weekend. We’ve got a cold bug going around the house, so it’s soup and tea, and water and rest. So far I’ve been spared, so I’m very thankful (Thursday) for that. I hope all of you are well!
Good night everyone, or good morning. Whenever you’re reading.

MONDAY MOOD – 1/5

And I did just that! Stayed home, nice n’ cosy!
I hope you’ve had a good start to this brand-new week. I got Christmas mostly taken down over the weekend. There’s still a few bits n’ bobs to store away, but Christmas 2025 is definitely over. Or is it???

I belong to several recipes and crafting groups online, and the moderator of one of these groups had posted pics of her taking down her Christmas stuff on December 26th. Apparently, she’d had it up since right after Halloween and for her, it was time to come down. And that’s when all hell broke loose in the comment section. I couldn’t believe it.

People were irate. They told her she was wrong to be doing that, it was only the 2nd day of Christmas, she didn’t know the meaning of Christmas and how could she do this to Jesus, yadda, yadda, yadda. Seriously, the woman got reamed and all I could think was, who cares? Who cares when this woman takes her Christmas stuff down? And I didn’t see one comment in defense of the woman, like, it’s her stuff she can do what she wants, or not everyone shares the same traditions, or maybe she isn’t Christian. Nope, people were just being jerks and all because a woman showed pictures of herself taking down her Christmas stuff. – Just ridiculous.

Today, I feel like I spent the whole day reading and snuggling my pup. He’s been a little out of sorts lately so he’s needing some extra attention and that’s okay by me. Time is never wasted when you have a furry luv in your lap.

I did find something I thought I would share just in case nobody knew this like I didn’t know. Ever since the death of Rob Reiner – so incredibly sad and still unbelievable to me – I’ve been watching clips of All In The Family just for nostalgia’s sake and still trying to really believe that “Meathead” is no longer with us. Well, I checked to see if All In The Family was streaming anywhere, it’s not. So, I got on YouTube because they usually have full seasons of everything, but nope, they didn’t have it either. What they did have though were the original pilot shows for what became All In The Family.

There were 3 pilots total. The first pilot in 1968 was called, Justice For All. The second pilot in 1969 was called, Those Were The Days, and the third pilot, which is the one most of us know, was called, All In The Family, and it aired in 1971.

After watching these videos, I am so happy that we finally got All In The Family. Check them out and let me know what you think. – 1968, 1969, 1971

Man, I couldn’t imagine the 1968 or 69 versions at all. Could you?

Well, we got our first Monday of the new year in the books. Did everyone survive? What’s on tap for Tuesday? I’m heading to Goodwill, the women’s shelter, and Half Priced Books to drop off a bunch of gently used items. Then, I’m off to the spine doctor – sounds freaky – to set up a physical therapy schedule. I’m so happy this is finally happening. Arthritis is no joke! So, a busy day of errands for me in our spring like winter weather. No snow but also no complaints because at least it’s not temps in the 90s. Lol. Forever a summer hater am I.

Have a great Tuesday everyone and let me know what happening down in the comments.
Good night.

T.G.I.F – Goodbye 2025 – 1/2

Seriousleeeeeeeeee.
2025 was beyond a cah-raaaaazy. I mean, really, what a complete and total shit show! I hope all of it stays in the past because I’m really looking forward to a lighter and brighter 2026. Of course, given this past year, I can’t help but hold my breath waiting for whatever fresh hell awaits us. But… I promised myself that 2026 will be a year of observing, not absorbing, and that will make all the difference.

I also have a plan written in my journal to help keep me from falling down that rabbit hole of doom-scrolling and news headlines, and so far, it’s working for me. I don’t know that I’ll succeed every day, I mean I have kids and grandkids, so I need to be informed, but I learned that there’s a big difference between being informed and being obsessed. I was obsessed, and obsession is a dark place.

And one more thing that has helped me tremendously was slowly weening myself off of the chaos. I’ve been doing it for a while, but in December I just let the axe fall and so far, so good. Deleting all social media accounts and people off of my personal social media accounts that were filled with negativity and hatefulness has made a HUGE difference, and I just decided that I’m not bringing any of that crap into my new year. Last year was enough, and what an eye-opener… It wasn’t just true colors being revealed, it was moral compasses and wow, you think you know someone, right? Geesh.

So, today, I have zero errands to run and no place to be, so I’ll be home doing laundry, taking down Christmas and hopefully practicing my watercolors, drinking bottomless cups of peppermint tea, and watching/listening to my British detective shows. – UNLESS, it snows. Then I’ll be outside just standing in it, surrounded by its awesomeness. We’ve gotten zero snow so far, and having a green Christmas was a huge bummer, so if we get snow, I’ll be outside for however long it lasts.

Anyway, what will all of you be doing on this 2nd day of 2026? Any plans for the weekend? It’s too cold to do anything here. I got an electric blanket for Christmas and I could snuggle under that and read my weekend away, it’s soooo cozy. I won’t but I could. Do any of you sleep with an electric blanket? I never had one until this Christmas, and I just love it. My sister had electric mattress covers, and now I’m thinking I may get one too so my top and bottom are nice n’ toasty! Lol.

Okay, I’m out. I hope you’re all having a great day and that your weekend will be even better!
