60 days into the New Year and this will be my 13th post.
What the heck??
Chalk it up to everyday life. This winter crud that seems to make never-ending rounds to my home. No motivation. Writer’s block or any number of other projects taking over my life at the moment.
Whatever the reason, I seriously need to rectify this.
Apparently, Fuxatawney Phil saw his shadow and was correct in his prediction of 6 more weeks of winter. At least for us. We still have snow on the ground.
Side Note: Wouldn’t it make more sense that if the rodent saw his shadow that would mean the sun was shining thereby indicating bright sunny days and an early spring ahead?? I mean if he pops out and it’s dark n’ gloomy, seems to me that would be the indicator of 6 more weeks of winter. What do I know?
This winter has been a tuff one out here in Boise. Way more snow than we’re used to in a city not equipped to handle it or the subsequent flooding that we get warned about every single day. Maybe it’s summer I’m ready for and not necessarily soggy, wet, possibly flooding, spring.
I’ve definitely caught the winter crud more this past winter than any winter before. Seriously, I think every bug that’s floating around lands on me and boom. I’m coughing and hacking and aching everywhere! My Dr. says it’s just crap going around and she thinks my liquid – protein shakes – diet is not helping. She’s an advocate for real food so for the sake of my lungs, sore nose from blowing and my ears, I think I may have to step up the menu.
For Lent this year I’ve decided to do the ’40 Days, 40 Bags’ challenge and declutter my life a bit. Literally. You can Google the challenge. Basically, you’re just getting rid of 40 bags of whatever it is you don’t want/need at your home. Either toss ’em or take ’em to Good Will.
This took a couple of bags.
Hey. Don’t judge. It’s theΒ all things fast food/pizza/catalog drawer. Ideally, we’re supposedΒ to use these coupons and I’m certain I was going to order a couple of dresses out of those catalogs but clearly none of that is happening as evidenced by this drawer.
2 bags down 38 to go!
I’ve also been making wine glasses and mugs and other fun stuff with my wonderful Cricut that I am still so very much in love with.
Here are two stemless wine glasses I made today for a couple of friends back in Michigan who spend lots of time on the water.
I feel like I’ve been away forever. Kinda’ weird getting back into the swing of things but I’m making the rounds and catching up.
Here’s to a lovely March ahead.
Ours came in like a lamb. I can’t imagine it going out like a lion tho but then again, I didn’t imagine we’d have as much snow as we’ve had. So again, what do I know?
What about where you are?
Did your March come in like a lamb or a lion?
Mimi’s quote for the day –
Wow such a wonderful and cosy feeling reading your beautiful post. Keep it up.

I wish I could get my wife to do the 40 bags in 40 days.

I’ll be fine Cranky right up until I hit my sewing/crafting stuff. π – PS – You could always do the 40/40 on her behalf.. I’m sure she’d thank you. Lol.. π

March came in like a lion. High winds, heavy rain, and hail! It did calm down in the afternoon and we are supposed to have some sunshine tomorrow.
Is that grocery size bags or garbage bags?

As I write this SJ it is a beautiful sunny day out there. A little chilly but I’ll take it. I hope there was no damage due to that storm! Southern storms can be so wicked! – The bags are grocery size so it doesn’t make the 40/40 quite so painful. π

It was a lion here. Our day started off like a lamb but then we were caught in a rain/snow hike last night. So I’d say lion before the day was done.
40 bags… a challenge I’m up for! I started the year off with 10 bags of recycling/donatations it felt great and keep saying I need to get back at it again.
Sorry you’ve had such a rough winter.
Cute glasses!
I bet your having a blast with your Cricut! It’s on my list of needful things! Not so easy to come by here so I’ll wait until I cross the pond again.
Glad to see your back to writing again!

Noooo with that snow! I’m so done with it. I am ready for spring n’ summer! – Wow. 10 bags! I know I’m going to struggle with 40 grocery bags! – The Cricut is a blast and you MUST get one! I haven’t even started sign making yet. I have to do that outside and right now it’s still a little too chilly for that but that’s coming up. π – And thank you. It’s good to be back! π

Hello! Sorry to hear of all your winter bugs – hope you are feeling even a little bit better now that March is here, regardless of that 6 week threat. Well, March came in like a lamb in my part of the UK – it was very sunny and way too warm for the big scarf I went out in. And so far today, (7am), after a major wind and rain storm last evening and into the night, the sky has some blue in it and it promises to be fine. Nice to see you blogging again – I should do the same! π But like you say – life. Hope sunshine and warmth comes to you very soon.

Thank you so much Gilly. One day I’m going to get over to your neck of the woods. I swear that’s where I’m meant to be or was in a past life. π As of right this moment, it’s blue, sunny skies all around and I am happy for that! π

It has literally been a year yesterday since I posted anything to my blog. Life stepped in I guess. I get that. We have had so much beautiful spring like weather and then BOOM! We get hit with icy temps and more snow. Ugh. Not a lot, just enough to insure everyone gets sick. Always love to read what you are up to.

You really should get back to your blog. You had so much fun doing it and we had so much fun reading it! – Oh I know about your spring tease back there. My family in Michigan had the same and this morning my lit’l sis woke up to nearly a foot of snow! Be well. Fingers, eyes and toes all crossed that you do not get sick!

March came in like a lamb here. We’re hoping to get back on the water soon, but the high tides have been brutal. Walking uphill to get on your dock is just plain weird.
It’s great to see a post from you, but I’m sorry you’re still sick. I hope the crud goes away soon.
Love those nautical glasses.
Have a fabulous day. Big healing hugs. β₯β₯β₯

You know I seriously live vicariously thru you Sandee. You should strap a ProGo to your chest and just walk around and let us all see that amazing life you lead. π I hope you’re able to get back on that water soon! I know in the summer my friends back home live on the lakes because their lake seasons are so short lived. – I’m eating vitamins and some fruits n’ veggies but ya’ know I’ve been doing the whole SlimFast thing only 3 shakes all day, no real food because well, bikini season is right around the corner and at 53 I so feel the need to strut my stuff in a piece of dental floss. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Actually. The snow is going away and I’d like to walk the mountain trails without an oxygen tent strapped to my back! I’m in the process of shedding all of those holiday goodies because God knows. My baby is 23 and I can’t really call it “baby fat” anymore! π

I do love my life, but I have ups and downs like everyone else.
I gave up on swimming suits altogether. I wear shorts and a polo shirt all summer long. Works for me. I’m 65 so my strutting days are long over. My son is 46. I’m old, but I’m one old gal that knows how to have a good time. π

Wait, what???? I’ve seen pics of you. There is NO WAY you’re 65!! And if that’s what 65 looks like, you my friend are definitely NOT old! I suspect you are however, most definitely fun and I have no doubts AT ALL that you know how to have a good time! π – I too have passed the torch on my strutting days. I’d just like to be in good enough shape not to huff n’ puff on the trails. π

You would make a fortune selling that pattern on wine glasses around here. Plus love the cobalt! I don’t honestly think I could fill 40 bags of stuff we don’t want. I purge every so often so pretty much everything we have is stuff we want to keep, although there are a lot of clothes that could probably go.

That pattern is from Pinterest. π But I am encouraging my girlfriends back home to start their own lake house club, ‘Nauti Girls.’ π I haven’t seen that one on Pinterest. – I will totally hit a brick wall when it comes to my fabric and crafts but I’m gonna’ give it a go anyway. There is quite a lot I should get rid of. I have too much, “I’m gonna’ make (fill in the blank) one day and I’ll need that.” – Borderline hoarding I suspect.. Lol

Welcome back! π I’m glad you’re feeling better these days. Many of us seem to be in a blogging slump. I’m trying to gear up for the April A to Z Challenge, but it’s slow going. π Love your 40 bags in 40 days idea! We have way too much crap around here. You have to be in the mood for that kind of chore, though. One of these days…
March 1st dawned mild and rainy with gale force winds, then the temperature dropped below freezing overnight. At least we didn’t get any snow (yet). This winter has been so schizophrenic! Cool wine glasses. You could start a whole cottage industry.

Thank you. π I stole the idea online somewhere. I’m sure someone in one of my Catholic groups posted it. – I so feel for you with your weather. It’s so much like Michigan weather. You guys really don’t know until June whether or not you’re getting snow tomorrow! Lol.. – The wine glasses stolen off of Pinterest. π The saying anyway, I do my own thing with the vinyl.

Here in the “Banana Belt”, we’re usually out of the “snow zone” by end April. Didn’t get nearly as much as they predicted for this year, thank goodness! You’ve inspired me to start cleaning out a few drawers. π

Great job with the 2 down and 38 to go. Before you know it, you’ll get there!
Will you be signing up for the A to Z in April? Hugs!
