IT’S FEBRUARY! Spring is just around the corner!

One month closer to warm sunshine, blue skies, and beautiful flowers everywhere!
I am SOOOOO ready!
Who’s with me???

Soooo, you may have noticed, I ducked out for a few days… Nope, I didn’t lose my blogging vibe again BUT… I did get another vibe going…
I’ve decided that I’m definitely going to sell my handmade crafts or if I’m being all fancy-schmancy, my artisan creations. I’ve lined up my testers/models for honest reviews/feedback and I’ve secured my Etsy name, which of course, no brainer here, Magical Mystical Mimi. Don’t go there just yet. It’s empty. I’m working on my inventory but when I’ve got things headed that way you’ll be the first to know. I’m SO excited!

Two words:  SHAMELESS SELF- PROMOTION. Ha!

I set myself up on a schedule because I will be making a variety of things so something different for each day of the week.
Tuesdays are for Christmas projects and today’s project is Christmas ornaments. I made quite a few last year for family and friends and I sold a couple of sets so I thought I would continue with those.

This set was one of the favorites, especially for the littles. They loved singing the Rudolph song while hanging the ornaments on the tree.
Rudolph’s nose is more glittery than shiny but no one seemed to mind.
So tonight I’m working on another set just a little bit different.
Here’s the exciting progress at the moment. Of course, when they’re finished I’ll update.

I’ve been watching that crazy weather going on out east and thinking of you bloggers tucked away in that little corner of the country. Holy smokes! I hope you’ve all remained safe n’ sound! From the sound of those winds out there you needed sandbags tied to your waists! Geesh. Here’s to Fuxatawney Phil NOT seeing his shadow!

I hope everyone has been staying healthy and far away from that Covid ho, Rona. She just really needs to find herself another corner!

Oh! And to my football fans out there! Holy shit! Who saw the Chiefs going down??? NOT ME but hey, kudos to the Bengals. I think this Superbowl is going to be one heck of a game, and the half-time show with Eminem and Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar? Holy hell. It’s my, “you can take the girl outta’ Detroit but you can’t take Detroit outta’ the girl” moment fo’ sho.

In other football news, in other football news?? I’ve never written so much about football in my life! Anyway. Raise your hand if you think Tom Brady has really retired from football??? I think this is another I’m going to retire for a moment then I’ll come out of retirement for a couple of billion dollars in a few years.

Okay. I’m out. So much left to do before I give in to the call of my comfy bed.

WEDNESDAY CRAFTINGHalloween

MEANWHILE….

So apparently I just like to break all of those “build your audience, build your followers” build a fucking bear rules of blogging. However, as most of you know. I’m not nor have I ever been, a rule follower. I follow the law and anything baking that smells like it should go directly onto my fat ass.

I’ll keep this post short so you don’t end up muddling thru a shitty, everyday version of  War & Peace. But hey! How ’bout this handbag made from a War and Peace book?! I love it.
No big mystery as to why I’ve been away. Sometimes life is just meh.

♦The highlight of my week thus far has been driving in snow, rain and whipping winds to arrive early at my dental appt. and being told AFTER AN HOUR of sitting there that they’ve overbooked. Ugh. I rescheduled.

♦No idea what’s happening with the Cohen confessions. Don’t care.

♦In the craft corner, its been all about crochet.

♦In the weather dept. it’s just nutso! A little bit of everything.

♦HULU pick of the week – Manifest. – Great show. Always keeps me on the edge of my seat.

♦Finished 2 books, Gone Girl and The Giver. Currently reading, The Lightworker’s Source (again.) Need to update my GoodReads acct.

♦Anybody else having issues with Facebook because mine is acting really wonky.
That’s it for this rainy day post. What’s happening in your corners of the world? Raise your hand if you’re ready for spring!
MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
***Bonus points if you sang that in your head.
Time – 10am
Temp – 37 degrees F/High today 45 with a “frozen mix.”
Mood – Chill
Bitch, bitch, bitch – Too much news EVERYWHERE.
Best thing – Rainy day.
Be well.

OH SNAP! – #9

As you may have guessed, I’ve been gone for a bit.
I had a minor hurts like a son-of-a-bitch surgery and “Blake & Miranda” graciously allowed me to recoup at their place.
It was a wonderful mini vacay filled with amazing people, great food, homeschooling from hell and lots of love and laughter.
Omg, this just makes me laugh so much…
All in all, I’d say the mini vacay was…
Happy Monday, folks!
For those of you in the deep freeze and snow in the east, be safe and stay warm!
For everyone else, none of you get to bitch about your weather unless it’s as extreme or beyond extreme, as the weather in the east.

I won’t pretend to know all of the ins and outs of the government shut down.
I will simply say that I am grateful it is over and that my brother and his family and other families like his will now be receiving back pay and paychecks once again.

Endless thanks to those who don’t get paid enough as it is but continued to keep us safe despite no income.

MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
Time – 6:45am
Temp – 27 degrees F/highs in the 40’s today
Mood – Pretty good for someone who’s been awake since 3am
Bitch, bitch, bitch – That crazy weather in Michigan!

Best thing – Knowing my family is safe and warm back in the mitten.
Be well.

BOING!!!

HAPPY SPRING!!!!Woo hoo! Finally! I thought this day would never come! Criminey! We’ve had some crazy weather out here. Our winter was more like spring and it was only a couple of weeks ago that we had snow! Today, for the moment, it’s sunshine all the way and temps that don’t require heavy coats, scarves, mittens or boots!
THAT makes me happy!
Speaking of happy. Did you know??

Now for something not so happy.
My first and only attempt at some kind of rubbery,
suck-u-lent houseplant. Ugh.
I’m like the Ron Popeil of houseplants. I like plants I can water once a week and move on.
I don’t like having to remember when I watered, how much did I water, did I water too much???
So, here’s the disastrous result…
Despite the pleading from the pot itself, the deed was done.
I am a plant murderer.
True story.
I’ve been away almost a whole month! Since I gave up Facebook and Instagram for Lent I really haven’t been socially networking. I jump on Twitter to get a feel of what’s going on. Lots of political stuff that quite honestly, I’ve lost track of. I don’t know what to read or who to believe anymore, so I just stay away from all of it and do my own thing. So much less stressful that way.

I’ve been doing lots of crafting. I’ll post pics in another post. Believe it or not, I am writing posts ahead of time. Go me! I know I’m missing out on a ton of stuff around here and honestly, it almost feels like I gave up being online for Lent too! I didn’t, I’ve just been super busy. Lame but the truth.

I hope everyone is happy and well and I reealllly hope none of you are getting hit with all of that snow back east! Doesn’t sound much like spring, does it? Fingers, eyes, and toes all crossed that this is the last storm of the season for them. Sunshine and warm temps just make everything so much better!
Until next time…

PS – This post is brought to you only because Sandee over at ‘Comedy Plus‘ said she missed my posts. She’s so wonderful. If you’re not reading her, you should be! Click on the link and go visit! She’s the best!MIMI’S QUOTE FOR THE DAY –

#13 – 60 DAYS

60 days into the New Year and this will be my 13th post.
What the heck??
Chalk it up to everyday life. This winter crud that seems to make never-ending rounds to my home. No motivation. Writer’s block or any number of other projects taking over my life at the moment.
Whatever the reason, I seriously need to rectify this.
Apparently, Fuxatawney Phil saw his shadow and was correct in his prediction of 6 more weeks of winter. At least for us. We still have snow on the ground.
Side Note:
Wouldn’t it make more sense that if the rodent saw his shadow that would mean the sun was shining thereby indicating bright sunny days and an early spring ahead?? I mean if he pops out and it’s dark n’ gloomy, seems to me that would be the indicator of 6 more weeks of winter. What do I know?
This winter has been a tuff one out here in Boise. Way more snow than we’re used to in a city not equipped to handle it or the subsequent flooding that we get warned about every single day. Maybe it’s summer I’m ready for and not necessarily soggy, wet, possibly flooding, spring.
I’ve definitely caught the winter crud more this past winter than any winter before. Seriously, I think every bug that’s floating around lands on me and boom. I’m coughing and hacking and aching everywhere! My Dr. says it’s just crap going around and she thinks my liquid – protein shakes – diet is not helping. She’s an advocate for real food so for the sake of my lungs, sore nose from blowing and my ears, I think I may have to step up the menu.
For Lent this year I’ve decided to do the ’40 Days, 40 Bags’ challenge and declutter my life a bit. Literally. You can Google the challenge. Basically, you’re just getting rid of 40 bags of whatever it is you don’t want/need at your home. Either toss ’em or take ’em to Good Will.

This took a couple of bags.
Hey. Don’t judge. It’s the all things fast food/pizza/catalog drawer. Ideally, we’re supposed to use these coupons and I’m certain I was going to order a couple of dresses out of those catalogs but clearly none of that is happening as evidenced by this drawer.
2 bags down 38 to go!
I’ve also been making wine glasses and mugs and other fun stuff with my wonderful Cricut that I am still so very much in love with.
Here are two stemless wine glasses I made today for a couple of friends back in Michigan who spend lots of time on the water.
I feel like I’ve been away forever. Kinda’ weird getting back into the swing of things but I’m making the rounds and catching up.
Here’s to a lovely March ahead.
Ours came in like a lamb. I can’t imagine it going out like a lion tho but then again, I didn’t imagine we’d have as much snow as we’ve had. So again, what do I know?
What about where you are?
Did your March come in like a lamb or a lion?
