Seriously… Omg… I can’t stand repair work being done around me and I feel like such a bitch about it but honestly, it just drives me bonkers. Especially since the work is being done in two of the rooms we frequent the most. – Thank the gods that be that we’re having no issues in our bathroom!
Plus, I feel like I’m being held hostage by the Gomer waiting on when/if he chooses to show up. He never shows when he says he will and we’ve had some beautiful days that I would’ve much rather been on the trails in the sunshine than waiting on that jughead.
And I know that I don’t have to be home for them to come in but I’d rather be, ya’ know? I mean, I don’t know this guy. He could be one of those weirdo panty sniffer idiots I see on all of my creepy crime shows. Who knows?? Plus, just the idea of a stranger in my home and I’m not here. Yeah, no. Call me paranoid but no. Not happening.
My future daughter-in-law tho, finding the positive in everything that happens, did take advantage of this annoying situation..
So. There’s a silver lining. Killing two birds with one stone, as it were.

The fan is gone AND the Gomer got fired! Not because of us but apparently, his work, in general, was a bit shoddy. – Ya’ think???
We have a new maintenance guy and he appears to be on the ball and he’s certainly 100% more professional than the Gomer. We still have holes in the dining room and kitchen and the one in the dining room is going to get a whole lot bigger before all is said and done. I don’t even care. I just want it finished!

More about those later..

Holy shit! I just went back and read your previous posts. What a disaster! 😮 I feel the same way about strangers in the house and disorder around me makes me nuts, too. Your future DIL is pretty clever! Sounds like things are improving for you, now that ‘Gomer’ has been fired. Here’s hoping the work gets done quickly and efficiently.

Strides have been made Debbie and HOPEFULLY this will be the last week for all of this crap and the in and out of a repair man. My dog HATES all of the ruckus going on. And I agree, my future DIL is pretty clever. About a lot of things actually. 🙂 Thank you.

Well, at least you are done with Gomer and that loud fan. I’m sure you will be relieved to see it all completed. No Hulu for me, drat.

Yes S.J.! Good-bye Gomer! Ugh. And apparently every apt. he worked on the tenants complained so it wasn’t just me thank goodness. Despite him being a Gomer, I still would’ve felt bad if I had been the reason that he was fired.

Hope the new dude knows what he is doing.

For the moment, he appears to Cranky. 🙂 We’ll see as time goes on whether or not the ceiling caves in. 🙂 He’s definitely a worker bee.

I’m always home when there are repair people.here. I’m the same way about this that you are. Good for the both of us. It’s our home and we’ll do it our way. I’m glad Gomer is gone and you’ve a good replacement.
We’re in for some hot weather this weekend, but we’re going to the boat anyway. We’ve got a big marina party on Saturday and we’ve not gone in years. It should be fun.
Have a fabulous day, Karen. ♥♥♥

A marina party sounds like TONS of fun and just being on the boat… I do so miss the Great Lakes.. – I’m so happy to know that it’s not just me being a weirdo paranoid person that has to be here when any kind of repairs are being done. Even my lit’l sis who lives 2000 miles away will call me if her husband isn’t home and there’s a repair guy coming. I chat with her thru the whole repair! Hahaha. 🙂 Not sure what I can do 2000 miles away but call 911 but whatever it takes, right? 🙂 I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend Sandee.

There were 14 of us in our group and we had a ball. The music was a bit loud and it was pretty warm, but we had a great time. There were three different types of meals. Mexican, BBQ and killer hotdogs with garlic fries. I had Mexican.
Whatever it takes is right in terms of repair folks. Too funny. 🙂

Oh man. I would’ve been all over that bbq! I can’t wait to be done with this Whole30 plan. I don’t know what I’ll eat first but bbq might just top the list! – Super happy you all had such a great time. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it?? Great times with those we love and good friends. 🙂

I’m glad he was too Joanne and I’m even more glad to know that my complaints were not the reason why because that would suck. But apparently it was every job he had done thru the complex. And yes. The new guy is a worker bee and getting things done very quickly AND correctly. 🙂

Ha! Oh my, that’s a lot of leggings. We had the bathroom and kitchen done at the same time, so I was holed up in my bedroom for days as the living room was filled kitchen stuff. Took 7 days and when the work was done, the whole team were fired. 5 years on and things are still falling apart. Really hoping the replacement guy does a better job then Gomer and that you get your home back to normal soon.

Ugh! That is a nightmare Lily!! And then the whole team was fired after spending 7 days in your home causing disruption and chaos, the whole team gets fired??? Well, there’s a huge red flag. I’m so sorry you went thru that, and are STILL going thru things falling apart. The replacement guy appears to be wonderful and on the ball and while I had him here I tacked on a few other repairs for him to do. 🙂 Why not? If you get a good repair man get the repairs done right!
