2020 MISSED CONNECTION MONDAY – Isn’t that what dating apps are for???

“Missed Connection Monday” is brought to you by your local Craigslist. These are real “love notes” that strangers leave for other strangers in the ‘Personals’ section of Craigslist. Or as I like to call it –
“Your local serial killer hunting ground.”

❤ ISO active female friend with positive personality
Hi, I’m looking for an active/positive female friend to go fishing, play pool, go for walks, bicycle rides, long talks with, and etc. in the blah, blah, blah area.
Please provide any questions you may have in your reply.
***Dear ISO,
I have a question??? Isn’t this moment of humiliating loser online begging what dating apps are for???
You’re never gonna’ meet this “female friend” you’re begging for because guess what?
She’s out fishing with that hot guy she met at the lake and they’re out playing pool and going for walks and bike rides and they’re having long talks about how they can do all of these things naked and/or whilst fucking.
PS – I hope I didn’t hurt your feelings.
And by talk we mean eat which explains the next pic.
If only we were back in the Rubenesque era of life.
All fat women would be goddesses in the arms of super hot guys.

I may or may not have had one or more of the following dating situations…

Um… Just to set the record straight. Ryan Gosling does, in fact, know I exist and I’ve got the personal protection order to prove it.

Seriously tho…
Not so much anymore but ya’ know… The 80’s…

❤ Happy, Happy Monday everybody!!!
First, to all of the moms out there and I mean every single mom. If your kids have fur or don’t have fur. If you’re a bonus mom or if you find yourself mothering every kid on the planet without suffering one single stretch mark or two saggy breastfeeding boobs. I’m talking to you!
I hope you all had a great day and hopefully, you were able to roam free this past weekend.

Second, in my corner of the world, we had 87 degrees yesterday which is crazy to me because my family back east had snow.
I stayed in and did phone calls and face timed with my kids and grandkids which is always the highlight of my day no matter what the day.
THEN… I lounged the day away like a Queen AND shopped online with all of the gift cards the kids gave me!
It was my second most favorite part of the day. I also did some sewing, had a great dinner that included chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for dessert and pretty much just chilled the rest of the night.
It really was a great day.

I didn’t roam free because where am I going to roam?
Are your states opening back up?? Ours really isn’t so much and when it finally does it’s going to be so different…
I think social distancing and wearing masks is going to be around for a while.

❤ Okay, what was your weekend like??
Anybody get that freak snow back east??
Any backyard barbeques happening?
Did you go visit anyone?
I know they say stay home but sometimes ya’ gotta’ go see family even if you stand outside a window and wave.

Share with me down in the comments and as always, stay safe however you choose to do that and take care of you and your loved ones.

PS – If you follow the Rubenesque link it will take you to a really funny post by one of our fellow bloggers, UP at Redneck Latte Ravings.
Seriously. I laughed all the way thru. You should give it a read.

MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
I probably did tell him that but I am soooooo not worried about it.

Thank you. 🙂 There are a lot of men who don’t go for the praying mantis look in women but I think the majority does and to those, I say, if you can’t handle the curves stay off of the road. 🙂

I think the last thing I’d ever do to date is go online. WAY too many weirdos hiding behind a screen. I agree that the old fashioned way (bars) is the best place. Well, college worked for me, too. Nothing like bitching about an accounting professor to bring two people together! Happened that way a few times for moi.

Yes, we got a covering of snow over the weekend which sucked. I dropped off flowers to my mom. Other than that, didn’t do much. Took a long walk and listened to my fave pod asters. Made a big salad last night with raspberries and toasted pecans. We lost power for an hour and a half last night, so I was doing crosswords with a flashlight. Pitiful.

Right??? – I’m happy you went to your mom’s. It’s important, especially in times like these. I’m sure she’s happy to see you. – Your salad sounds yummy. I love raspberries and pecans. I would’ve taken your snow on Sunday but now that we’re dropping back down into the 60’s and 70’s, I’m good. You need one of those hats with those lights on it. My sister and her husband had them and I laughed at how dorky they were until we had the wildfires and the power went out. Those hats came in handy!

  2. Only a loser would try to find a date on craigs list. I’m just saying. I’m also with you on the last part of this post.

We stayed home again this weekend and are planning on going to the boat next weekend. It’s time for the isinglass to come down and the screens to go up. We’ll be by ourselves to it’s all good.

Have a fabulous day and week, Karen. Love you bunches. ♥

I totally agree about the losers but then there’s those women who actually answer and I think they’re just nuts. It’s bad enough meeting people in person and tuning into the vibe. Craigslist dating is just asking to be found in a ditch somewhere. – Omgosh!!! You’re going to the boat! Woo hoo!!! That’s so exciting. I’m so happy for you Sandee. 🙂 You stay safe over there. Love you too. ❤

      1. Well that trip to the boat isn’t working out. The bridge is closed to boat traffic and road traffic. Going around takes a very long time. Perhaps mid week next week. Sign. 🙂

  4. Happy Mother’s Day!

Somehow i think the days of “full figure” women is over and done, which is sad. After all, those are the ones most likely to survive the famine and pass on their genes.

Anyway, the temps here are unseasonably cool, but we are not complaining. When your only two seasons are wet and hurricane, with the only difference being that hurricane season is hotter, you take all the cool you can get.

Hope you have a great week!

I think I’m going to use that info. when I gain weight Mimi. “Hey, I’m just practicing for surviving the famine.” 🙂 – Oh yes. Enjoy the cool while you can! I hope you’re not right in a hurricane alley. I can’t even imagine that. Growing up around the Great Lakes we never feared hurricanes or anything in the water that might eat you alive. They’re all freshwater. I wonder how many gators wash up during hurricane season. – Stay safe!

I think Mother’s Day was quiet for everyone Dora so I know those phone calls from your sons really made the day. – Redneck Latte’ Ravings is a fun site and very informative. You’ll always learn something there. 🙂

  5. I’m tending towards Rubenesque myself if my mirror is to be believed, but there’s no way I’m lounging around in next to nothing, we’re heading into winter here. It’s neck to ankle covering time.
I wonder if I’ve never met the man of my dreams because I keep dreaming about different men?

Ah. I always forget we’re at opposite seasons. How cold does it usually get in your winter? Do you get tons of snow?? – Without going into the XXX version of your dreams… Hahahaha… What are the men in your dreams doing?? The fact that you dream about different ones means you may have different needs that need to be met and your sorting thru it in your dreams. It may also mean that you believe in the old saying, “variety is the spice of life.” 😉

Riiight. I have never tried one but I’ve seen enough nut jobs in-person to know I didn’t want to deal with someone lurking behind a screen.

LOL these are great! There really is a striking difference between what men and women want when it comes to online dating. My celebrity fantasy has always been Robert Redford and most especially in his scenes with Meryl Streep in Out of Africa. Washing someone’s hair never looked so sexy. Ryan Gosling is pretty hot too. Have you ever watched Outlander? The guy who plays the Scottish lead, Sam Heughan, so hot! Another fantasy of mine (and I heard he likes dogs hahaha!).

Karen, it sounds like you had an awesome Mother’s Day! 🙂

My state has started Phase One of opening up but not my County yet, still too many cases. I think you’re right that social distancing and wearing masks will be around for a while. We haven’t had much of Spring here at all, way too chilly and rainy! As far as snow, we barely saw any this season. Wacky weather! Mimi’s Thought for the Day gave me a good laugh and oh no, I think that’s what happened to me. 😉

Oh me too! Robert Redford can wash my hair any ‘ol time! – I have not watched Outlander. I’ll check it out. Is it streaming or on tv?

Yay another Redford fan! I watch Outlander on the Starz channel which comes with my tv cable package. I think you can get it streaming too. It’s an historical romantic fiction. I was hooked from the beginning. The female lead, a British Army nurse in WWII, travels to Scotland with her husband for a second honeymoon post war. While she’s off exploring the countryside by herself, she literally falls through time to Scotland in the mid-1700s, and there she meets the true love of her life, a Scottish clansman. But there’s conflict because she left a husband back in the 1940s. Lots of passion, sex, drama, history, and time travel back and forth, and to more than one era of time and several countries over a span of two decades. Let me know if you watch. 🙂
