❤ “Missed Connection Monday” is brought to you by your local Craigslist. These are real “love notes” that strangers leave for other strangers in the ‘Personals’ section of Craigslist. Or as I like to call it –
“Your local serial killer hunting ground.”
❤ @THE MAVERICK, SHORTIE
I’m not sure how old you are or if you’re single but wow was I attracted to you right away even with that cute mask you had on.
*** Dear Maverick, I think you need to get your eyes…
❤ TINDER SEARCH
Hi, my name is Lindsey and I’m looking for my missed connection. I matched with a man named Peter who is 24, 6’3″ and goes to the U of I. We really connected and I accidentally unmatched with him. If any of you know him, please help me find him again!
*** Dear Lindsey, get in line. A lot of women/men are looking for a peter…
And if he happens to be 24 and 6’3″… BONEus!
Better to rob the cradle than the kennel.
❤ That quote up there really says it all for me!
To be honest, I think we could all use a new month and a new mindset.
I don’t know about any of you but emotionally I am wiped out!
It’s time for some…
Can I get an amen??!!
AMEN!!!
❤ How’s everybody doing? I hope you’re all healthy and I hope none of you got caught in the protesting and riots.
It’s a crazy time to be sure. I’m happy to say that Boise had a peaceful protest of about 300 people.
Granted, we don’t have a large black community but racism is, unfortunately, in every community.
❤ We’re at Phase 3 of 4 for reopening Idaho. The pools, water parks, bars, and movie theaters have been added to the list and I think that about wraps up all of the businesses.
Phase 4 is just increasing how many people can go here, there and everywhere while still following the CDC guidelines.
So, basically, it’s your life. Do what’s right for you.
For me, due to my compromised immune system, I will continue to avoid crowds, I’ll continue social distancing, and I’ll be wearing my mask when I go in most places.
However, if it doesn’t rain and temps aren’t in the 90’s or triple digits I’ll be putting my new trek poles to work on the trails and NOT wearing a mask but I’ll have one just in case a ginormous marathon of trailblazers come storming up behind me!
Aren’t they pretty? They really help with steeper inclines and they do help you get a bit further on down the trails.
I can almost hear Roy and Dale now…
It’s okay, you can groan.
❤ Needless-to-say, I’ve been getting a lot of crafting in.
Cross stitching, crocheting, and making sparkly bows for my granddaughters.
Anything to keep my mind off of the chaos.
I listen to a lot of jazz music while I craft. I listen to the BGM Channel on Spotify but it’s on iTunes and YouTube (free) as well.
About the only time, I’m not listening to music is when I’m reading. Some people can listen and read at the same time and I have no idea how they do it.
My kids used to listen to super loud music while they did their homework and since none of them failed I’m guessing the music didn’t interfere.
Speaking of reading, this is the book I’m starting tomorrow.
I try to start a new book at the beginning of every month. I have no idea what this book is about but it looks creepy.
I guess I’ll see.
❤ What are your thoughts on getting out n’ about?
Are you going all-in or are you approaching with caution?
What have you been doing to pass the time during the pandemic?
Are any of you doing some crafting or DIY projects?
What about reading? What books are you reading?
Please do share with us because ya’ know, we really are in this together.
I’m keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Be safe and be kind.
MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR TODAY –
The first missed connection sounds like someone trolling for anyone with a skirt and a mask.

Hahaha. Maybe masks are a turn on now. Such a bizarre time we’re living in.

Everyone is looking for peter. Bwahahahahahahaha. I’m old, but that didn’t pass me by.
I’m not sure what phase we’re in, but I have a hair salon appointment on Thursday and a nail appointment on Friday. That works for me.
I’ve never been scared of this virus. We worked in such a horrible unhealthy environment for so many years that we didn’t panic over new stuff. We worked when AIDS was raging and many were scared to death.
Have a fabulous day and week honey. Love you bunches. ♥

The waiting list for hair appts here is soooo long. Interestingly enough mani and pedi appts. are carrying on as usual. I may try to get one in this month. – I wasn’t scared of this virus either until my whole family chimed in about my cancer and the lymph nodes in my chest and my compromised immune system. BEFORE I heard all of their chatter I thought it was pretty much another flu. All of that being said I can’t stay cooped up forever, thus the open trails. 🙂 – I don’t know how you worked thru all the horrific and dangerous situations that you have. I remember when AIDS was raging and I remember watching the news and seeing police officers being spit on by people with AIDS and lying about needles in their pockets. And now all of the rioting in the middle of a pandemic. It’s nuts. I pray for your health and safety every night and nothing but blue skies and the open waters for you and your “peter.” Hahahahaha ❤

I was one being spit on. It was grand fun for the thugs. We survived it. My peter is doing very well. Bwahahahahahaha. 🙂

It was a shit show here over the weekend. Senseless destruction of historical buildings, restaurants, and small businesses. I can’t stop getting emotional about it all. I don’t know what the phase we are in anymore. Hair salons are open, but not movie theatres. We made decision last week to cancel and not even reschedule my son and DIL’s wedding reception. It was time to cut our losses. I’m mad and sad about the whole thing, but time to move on, I guess.

I’m sorry about the reception. That’s a tough loss to cut. Such a happy event to be overshadowed by all of the gray clouds of violence, hatefulness and uncertainty. It’s like the whole world has gone nuts. I wonder what our grandparents would think of all of this craziness.

I was never worried about the virus – we went on as usual only with masks. NOW, with the unrest, I’m afraid to leave the house!!
On a lighter note, you crack me UP!

Well, you already saw the shark I completed last week 🙂
I believe we’re at stage 2. Restaurants are opening. We’re slowly getting back. Well, until yesterday when the riots started. Yup, my city is getting looted. They closed stores at 1 PM today (I just barely made it in time), and we’re under curfew from 4 PM until 5 or 6 AM. Hopefully the looting won’t be bad tonight. The pictures from downtown are heartbreaking.

I know. You do cool stuff. I haven’t tried yet but soon I think… Wow! Omgosh. STAY SAFE! I hope it moves on soon but it doesn’t look like it. At least not tonight anyway…

We never quit working, we couldn’t afford to. We just mask and glove up, and spray our work stuff with disinfectant. Many of my clients are elderly and don’t get out, so if i don’t go clean the house and shop for them, it doesn’t happen.
Your crafting is beautiful, and i hope you have a great time on the trails (also, i have a soft spot for Roy and Dale).

You are an angel Mimi. 🙂 God bless you for tending to those who need it most. – Thank you for your kind words about my crafting. I can’t wait to finish them all. – Roy and Dale were a favorite in our house too. And of course, Trigger. 🙂

That guy attracted right away to the lady in the cute mask, the “mask” was not what attracted him LOL! And on the other one, we are all looking for Peter! 😉
Yes, yes, and amen to sunshine and new beginnings. I’ve been going stir crazy with hubby working from home yet finding time to bother me with whatever I’m doing. Then needing my attention to do things with him when he’s done with work ‘cause he’s bored so easy and there’s not even sports on tv to watch. I keep sending him out to walk the dogs…take long walks, I say LOL!
Your new trek poles are cool. Happy Trails to you! I loved Roy and Dale, I had a lunchbox with them on it. I think it’s great that you listen to jazz while crafting. I love jazz…my hubby doesn’t care for it and now I just thought of another way to get him outta the house…turn up the jazz music LOL!
We’re just entering Phase 2 here. My county is still approaching things cautiously since we’re among the two Maryland counties that had seen the highest Covid-19 cases. Masks are still required.
I haven’t read “Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children” yet but it’s on my list of books to read. I’ve heard it’s creepy and really good! I’m reading “The Overstory” by Richard Powers, who’s an award-winning author. I’m liking it a lot.
Mimi’s Thought for the Day is perfect! 🙂

Hahahahaha! I told you… Send him to aaalllll the stores. Especially the crowded ones! Hahahaha. Put Nair in his shampoo bottle. I may have done that once… He can always take it back to the store for a refund… Maybe he can go protest! While he’s out walking the dogs go somewhere you want to go – alone. When I was married my husband would do all of his busy work and right when he saw me sit down with a book in my hand he wanted to talk! Seriously?? No. Go do something. – I just looked into the book you’re reading and I think I’ll read that next. It sounds reeeaallly good! Thanks for sharing, JLil (not to be confused with your sister, JLo) 🙂
