SORRY, WRONG NUMBER

At some point in our lives, we’ve all made the “sorry you’ve got the wrong number” call.

Years ago I called my little sister’s house on Super Bowl Sunday and as soon as her husband answered, me being me, bursts into…

ME –  “Can you fucking believe that ref?? He’s either working for the other team or he’s fucking blind!”

MY BRO IN LAW – Laughing, laughing, laughing.

ME – “Okay… Let me talk to my sister.”

MY BRO IN LAW – “Okay… Who’s your sister?”

ME (being me again) “Okay jackass put my sister on the phone.”

More laughing and now I’m out of patience because of course, I would call my sister last minute for a recipe on the day that I need the recipe!
Anyway…

MY BRO IN LAW – “No, really who’s your sister?”

Now I’m all pissy.
ME – “Just get my sister please.”

Now it’s roaring laughter and then the light bulb comes on…
I DIALED THE WRONG NUMBER!!!!
Now I join in the laughter and I’m apologizing and whoever is on the other end of the phone NOT my bro in law was watching the game – thankfully – and he thought the ref was crooked too.
Anyway, long story not so short. When I came across the pic below it made me think of my “sorry wrong number” story.
Raise your hand if you’ve got a “sorry wrong number” story because you know I want to hear about it!

If your “sorry wrong number” story is a long story not so short, blog about it so the world wide web can laugh along!

DOES ANYBODY REALLY KNOW?

Don’t ask me! I don’t know the time or the day! What I do know is that I’ve missed two days of posting and well, here I am now.
I’m still trying to make my life normal again since my sister died. Failing miserably. I spend too much time in bed. Apparently, I’m preparing for my debut on that show, ‘My 600lb Life.’ Seriously. Eating and sleeping is mostly what I do now.

Oh. I also show up to appts an hour early. Send birthday gifts that arrive a day late and on my super cool moments, I gift someone a gift they’ve already got!
Yep. I’m that super cool.

I don’t do death well. – There. – I’ll just leave it at that.
I know Wednesday is ‘Wordless Wednesday’ around the blog-o-sphere and I thought about posting but my photo would’ve been this.
And I missed Thursday because I just missed it. The day got away.
Now it’s Friday and the weekend is upon us.
I seriously have ZERO plans for my weekend.
If I get out of bed, hooray!
If I work on some projects double hooray!
If I don’t, well, at least I opened my eyes.
That’s pretty much where I’m at.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT –
The voice of Sesame Street’s ‘Big Bird’ and ‘Oscar The Grouch,’ Caroll Spinney,
is saying goodbye after 50 years. Talk about spanning generations. This show has been with me, my children and my grandchildren. How crazy is that??

I hope the new voice of ‘Big Bird’ and ‘Oscar’ sounds close to the original otherwise it will be like those weird ‘Flintstone’ episodes when ‘Fred’ and ‘Barney’s’ original voices changed and they didn’t sound the same anymore.
Happy Weekend everyone. I hope you can all get out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather wherever you are.
Lots to do out there…
**Pumpkin patch
**Corn maze
**Cider mills
**Hayrides
**Road trips for fall colors
And… If you’re brave not me there are always haunted houses to visit!

Who’s got plans??
Who’s hangin’ at the homestead?
Share in the comments.
I’ll live vicariously through your adventures until I can make some of my own again.

#4 – My favorite word is…
You asked…
Sooooo, I’ve been on this time management kick lately on my quest to make the most out of my 24 hours and attempt to be ultra-productive.
I’ve literally been tracking every move I make every breath I take and feeling like a dog chasing its own tail! This time of year is so busy for me. It’s controlled chaos that needs a little less chaos and A LOT more control!
My issue is, I’m a jumper. I jump from one project to the next and before I know it I’ve got a bazillion projects started and only a few finished. Then, I get overwhelmed and bury my head in a vat of wine until about a week before everything is due and then I’m like a crazy woman trying to get everything done last minute!
Some people call this procrastination.
My dr. calls it adult ADHD.
I call it fucking frustrating!
So, day 1 of chasing my own tail involved setting timers and journaling notes from 5am to about 3pm then my time management mojo said fuck this, I’m out. I seriously could not account for one more nanosecond of my life!
I ended this day with 10 hours of controlled chaos. Go me!
I have zero plans for the weekend and by zero I mean Z-E-R-O. I’m doing absolutely nothing. For the most part, I’m unplugging. I’ll get my blog posts in and visit all of you but my phone will be off and I will be spending many, many, many hours outside. My indoor time will be split between my headphones, great music and creating AND/OR silence, hot tea and a great book.
What about you?
Do you ever just unplug and chill?
What are YOUR plans for the weekend??
I hope you can do something spectacular and can make some spectacular memories. Spectacular memories are good for the soul.
