As you may have guessed, I’ve been gone for a bit.
I had a minor hurts like a son-of-a-bitch surgery and “Blake & Miranda” graciously allowed me to recoup at their place.
It was a wonderful mini vacay filled with amazing people, great food, homeschooling from hell and lots of love and laughter.
Omg, this just makes me laugh so much…
All in all, I’d say the mini vacay was…

For those of you in the deep freeze and snow in the east, be safe and stay warm!
For everyone else, none of you get to bitch about your weather unless it’s as extreme or beyond extreme, as the weather in the east.
I won’t pretend to know all of the ins and outs of the government shut down.
I will simply say that I am grateful it is over and that my brother and his family and other families like his will now be receiving back pay and paychecks once again.
Endless thanks to those who don’t get paid enough as it is but continued to keep us safe despite no income.

Right??? Thank goodness for pain meds even tho at the moment I’m doing okay with Ibuprofen. I figure the big gun meds are for when I feel like I’m being drawn and quartered. 🙂 – Thank you.

Thank you, Sandee. They say laughter is the best medicine but I’m gonna’ go with having great friends is the best of the best everything! Love you bunches too! I can’t believe it’s the end of January and it hasn’t been that forever, dragged out, cold and gray month. SO happy about that. I’m sorry everyone else is in a deep freeze but I’m super happy spring is upon us here!

Glad you had a good recuperation! The midwest is definitely getting some cold ass weather. So far, knock wood, we’ve been relatively OK. Just happy to get through January w/o any blizzards.

But, they’re all safe and sound and warm and enjoying snow days so that comforts a Mimi’s soul. – I can’t believe it’s the end of January! It’s certainly been mild out this way and you can literally smell spring in the air and I LOVE it!

I’m relieved the shutdown is over, people need to get paid to live. I hope very much that “he” doesn’t do another shutdown next time he doesn’t get what he wants.
Is 46C (115F) extreme enough to bitch about? That was us last week.

What the heck, River???? 115 degrees???? Yeah. I’m pretty sure that’s bitch-worthy. You need to send some of those temps over this way into the midwest! Unbelievable… I can’t believe this but you’re the only person that I’m saying, stay cool to IN JANUARY when everyone else is in a deep freeze! Get that AC going, those fruity drinks and live in the pool!

Karen, I hope you’re healing well from your surgery! Sending big hugs!!! Nice, though, that you were able to recoup at Blake and Miranda’s place.
I’m so glad the govt shutdown is over. We were lucky this time, the department my husband works for had already received their funding. But we’ve been in govt shutdowns in the past and it’s no fun at all to try to make ends meet without a paycheck. I’m very happy that your brother and his family and all those affected can get their paychecks again.
