5

Seriously.
Five months folks. That’s how many months are left in this year.
2018.
Who can believe this??!!
Well, here we are.
HAPPY AUGUST EVERYONE!
You could start surprising me by turning off this heat from hell!
Triple digits. Ugh.
Our “cooling trend” of 89 degrees arrives this weekend.
WOO HOO!

That being said, I am hoping, wishing, praying, dancing naked maybe, maybe not for an end to the wildfires, especially in California where people are not only losing their homes but also their lives.
1. Staying cool
2. Errands
3. Crocheting some gifts.
*** I’ve gone as far as I can go on 3 of my blankets because I ran out of certain colors of yarns and none of my go-to yarn stores, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Joann’s nor the freak store Walmart had any of the colors I needed.
The search will continue this weekend…
Aaaanddd nobody cares about my yarn struggle.

I think I might be able to squeeze at least one hat out of this yarn.
I used this type of yarn, not the same colors, once and only once for a blanket I made “Miranda” last year.
Never again.
Super challenging to crochet with again nobody cares about my yarn struggle so I tend to stick to smaller projects now when using this type of yarn.
4. Cricuting.
***LOTS of projects to get printed and cut!
5. Christmas cross stitch.
6. Organize, organize, organize!!!
I really dig this guy.
What are all of you up to?
Anything thrilling and spine-chilling to report??
If you’ve got some cooler temps, rain or snow you could send some out this way!
MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
See? I’m nice like that.

SPIDERS & GNATS & WORMS! OH MY!

1.) It’s been raining for two days and I have no complaints. Ya’ wanna’ know why??? 3 words.
Winter Storm Toby.
2.) When you read that meme up there you sang the ‘Pina Colada’ song in your head, didn’t you?
3.) If you didn’t then you did just now.
4.) Now the ‘Pina Colada’ song is stuck in your head.
5.) You’re welcome.
SIDE NOTE: I lied. I do have one complaint. With all of this rain comes all of the creepy crawly flying things! Holy hell. My back patio is like a worm morgue with all of the jumping spiders playing leapfrog over those stretched out skinny shriveled wormy bodies!

And these little gnat things?? A couple of warm days and these things come out in droves! Seriously. You can’t go outside without sniffing one of these things up your nostrils! And then comes the coughing and the gagging and the eeewww-ing. It’s just not pretty.
So there. That’s my one complaint about the rain. Still, better than snow.
Rainy days are great for staying inside, drinking pots full of coffee (or tea) and getting crafty.
Let’s see..
SEWING –
I can’t seem to stop making these. They’re super easy and sew up so quickly!
They’re microwavable bowl cozies. They are microwavable safe. Put your soup or your chili in your bowl, put the bowl into one of these very cool cozies, nuke it and pull out your soup/chili by the corners of the cozy and straight into your hands. No more burnt fingers or spills! They’re also great for holding freezing cold bowls of ice cream! My family and friends LOVE these so they also make great gifts!

CRICUT –
Latest cut..
Well, this one isn’t really my last cut but I didn’t take pics of those yet so here’s another shirt I made for my daughter because she is the Queen Bee.
Speaking of my Queen Bee daughter..
She’s pretty crafty herself. This is just one of the many awesome platters she has done for her beautiful kiddos school parties.

CROCHETING –
Currently on the hook..
I have no idea what the stitch is called but it’s super easy and I think I found it on YouTube.
I’m just using up some scrap yarn in shades of pink. NETFLIXING –
Finishing up my binge watching from 2016. Seriously. Apparently, I only got thru 2 seasons TWO years ago. What the hell? Such a great show. I’m on season 3. I’ll be sad to see this show end.
Pulling this post full circle I thought I’d share that “worming” is a thing out here. People dig for worms or use electric prods or probes. The electric prods/probes are much easier. Just stick ’em in the ground and up come the worms. Why do they do this??? They sell them for up to $24.00 a pound depending on the worm. Seriously.
You can read more about it, here.
Okay, well, time to wind it up. I’m trying to post every day and I’ve got about 15 minutes to get this published.

I want to know about your crafting or “must watch shows” or if any of you have wormed or have worms. That would be interesting. I’ve seen dogs scooch their buts across carpet when they’ve had worms. I wonder if that’s what people do.

Leave your answers in the comments, especially if you or someone you know has worms like that guy who had the 5 1/2 foot tapeworm. Soooo disgusting.
You can read about that and see gross pics here.

Okay. I’m out. Be well. Be happy. Be healthy and let your light shine!
