"Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." – Roald Dahl
THE SOUND OF SILENCE
Day #1 on the new blog was quiet. I haven’t shared this blog with anyone I know or any of my followers from my old blog. I did test the Blogger waters and commented on a couple of “new to me” blogs with no feedback. I’m hoping it was because I’m a bit rusty with Blogger and had forgotten to check the “make my blog public” box. Note to self – No one can read your blog if you don’t release it to the public.
My day today is mostly running errands and mailing off some glasses and mugs that I make with my awesome Cricut Explore Air. I’m hoping to get all of that done before the heat of the day takes over and seriously, even with the AC blasting in your vehicle it’s still hot out there.
Just walking from the car into the store the heat from the asphalt is enough to make your skin melt off. Which for me, would be a great weight loss technique and truth be told I could probably use a few long walks on that hot asphalt!
I know I sound like a whiner but these triple digit temps have been going on for weeks and there is no relief in sight. I love my sunshine and warm – warm, not melt your flesh off – temps but right now I would love to wake up to a chilly morning and pumpkin spice everything!
Once I get back home to my wonderfully air conditioned apartment, so cold you could hang meat or store bodies – your choice. – I’ll be doing a little reading. I’m a total book worm and book hoarder. I often read several books at a time but always one will grab a hold of me and I’ll find myself reading it most often.
The book that currently has my undivided attention is ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ by Rick Warren. I’ve skimmed through this book several times in my life but now I am actually reading the words and contemplating all of the messages.
My whole life I’ve wondered what my reason for being was. I’ve always known that I was born to be of service to others, to protect them and to fight for them. Just as I have always known that my guardian angel is Michael the archangel. What I haven’t known is how. I’m hoping ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ will shed some light.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
Omgosh. I would love some of that freezing weather right now. We have excellent AC but when you have to go out n' about it's just hideous. – Thanks for stopping by Angela. 🙂
It's hard starting again from scratch, especially if you don't make your blog public. I live in one of those places where summers aren't necessarily scorchers – but oh, watch out for winter! There has to be a happy medium somewhere. Somehow.
Well, I've made the blog public now and you're right. It's definitely a little weird starting over but I'm okay with that. I get to meet a lot of nice people along the way, right? 😀 – I have searched high and low for the state or country that has perfect weather year round. Zero. Not even kidding.
Hello! I've just noticed your comment on your blog – thanks! Welcome back to blogland!

Hi! Thank you, Pam! I was getting a little nervous about being invisible. 🙂 Baby steps I guess, huh?

I really hate summer. I always said Washington was my perfect climate but they've been dry and roasting all summer too.

I don't mind summer in the 80's but this triple digit crap has got to go!
