THANKFUL, THIRSTY, THINGS

TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR…
1.) – Anyone who takes the time to read the words I write. Really. I appreciate you and I’m thankful for you.
2.) – I’m thankful that I finished one of my crocheted blankets.
3.) – I’m thankful that I had extra oil and coolant in the back of my vehicle today because I needed both!
THIRSTY –
I know that one of my favorite summer drinks definitely counts as a serving of fruit.

WATERMELON VODKA SLUSHIE
These are so delicious and refreshing.
You can find a fabulous recipe for them at ‘Just A Pinch.’
Personal note – I find that the alcohol measurements in most drink recipes, much like speed limits unless there’s a cop nearby, are merely suggestions.
THINGS –
Many, many things going on.
**Idaho passed a law that says you can get a $90 ticket for going too slow in the left lane.
Now if they’d pass one for people who don’t know how to use their fucking blinker!
**Still playing the “hurry up and wait game” with my sister’s drs.
**Not playing the “hurry up and wait game” with my own docs.
One appt. down, 5 more to go.
**Many, many projects to finish up. I’m currently crocheting and hand embroidering. I’ll post pics as I get the majority of “things” done.
**Just joined The Great American Read. It’s 100 of America’s most loved books AND it’s a show on PBS hosted by Meredith Viera.
I know I’m late to the game but I’m in and I’m not rushing. I’m reading the ones I can check out online from our local library first.
Currently, I’m reading ‘Anne of Green Gables’ and I had no idea there were so many chapters in this book! What the hell? And it’s sort of ridiculous. I remember watching the old – really old – ‘Anne of Green Gables’ when I was little. It didn’t seem as hokey as this book BUT I’m going to finish it because I want to read ALL 100 books!
**Netflix is not helping my insomnia in the least. They have a new creepy crime show on…
These people are vile and disgusting and beyond creepy and doesn’t this guy look like a creepier death row Uncle Fester?
You know, Ted Bundy was vile and disgusting but at least he looked “normal” and he gave intelligent and informative interviews.
Did Mimi just defend a serial killer?
What are you thankful for??
When you’re thirsty what’s your “go to” drink?
What things do you have going on??
Please share in the comments below and have an amazing evening!

MISSED CONNECTION MONDAY – TED BUNDY’S LOVECHILD

“Missed Connection Monday” is brought to you by your local Craigslist. These are real “love notes” that strangers leave for other strangers in the ‘Personals’ section of Craigslist.
Or as I like to call it –
‘Your local serial killer hunting ground.’
LADIES IN JEEP WRANGLER IN HULLS GULCH
To the two ladies who graciously gave my dog and I a lift back to my truck on Friday, thank you!

Turns out, I broke my ankle on the trail so not having to walk that last ~mile out was greatly appreciated. Thank you again!

If you happen to know two ladies who gave someone a ride in the area on Friday morning, please pass along my thanks!
Rob
***Yeah… Ted Bundy has a similar story…Turns out he broke his arm…
(The Deliberate Stranger:  The Story of                  Serial Killer Ted Bundy – YouTube)

If you happen to know these two ladies DO NOT pass along Ted Jr’s “thanks!”
Are you fucking kidding me right now???
THIS is Hulls Gulch!

I’m not picking up a quarter if I drop it let alone some guy I don’t know with a dog that may or may not be his or that may or may not be trained to rip my leg off!
People are so fucking stupid…

Happy Monday folks!
I’m a little late to the game today. Lots going on. I do have to say, it was fantastic seeing Halloween decorations up in every store I went into today. Seriously. It’s been so hot here ANYTHING that brings thoughts of cooler weather is okay by me!
Tomorrow is another early day for me, in fact, this whole week is going to be early days for me. We don’t have a definitive date for my sister’s surgery so I’m trying to get my schedule in sync and reschedule what I can plus get all of my personal appts., dr. appts., etc. out of the way. I am not looking forward to an MRI. Any of those kinds of tests always freak me out, plus I flatlined in one of them before so yeah, no fun for me at all…

I hope that all of you have had a wonderful start to your week. Don’t work too hard if that’s your gig and if you’re playing, don’t overdo it. That heat is killer out there and apparently, it’s the same all over the globe!

Be well and be safe.

Happy weekend everyone! Tomorrow, much like today will be all about running errands for me and getting back into the A/C as soon as possible so I can continue working of Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, and baby shower gifts. I’m hoping to find all of the yarn I need to finish up at least 3 blankets this coming week. Fingers, eyes, and toes all crossed that I can find all of the perfect color matches.

What are your plans for the weekend???
I hope you’ve got something fun planned that gives you great big belly laughs or maybe an adventure to make your spirit soar!

Oooorrrrr maybe just hangin’ with the fam.
That’s always a great way to spend time.
Okay, maybe not all of the time but most of the time or ya’ know, whatever, you can always stay home alone with your bitter ass self!

Whatever you do, whoever you do it with, first make sure they’re legal, then make sure whatever you’ve got planned is legal THEN proceed with your weekend shenanigans!
MIMI’S QUOTE FOR THE DAY –
Peace out my friends.

THANKFUL THURSDAY – LATE NIGHT EDITION

Jumping on the thankful bandwagon of my friend Sandee over at ‘Comedy Plus.’
The Thankful Thursday Blog Hop is hosted by another blogger, Brian over at ‘Brian’s Home.’
This is super simple and a nice break in the day, just list some things that you’re thankful for.
Easy peasy.
When you’re done link up at ‘The Thankful Thursday Blog Hop‘ over at ‘Brian’s Home.’
1. – I’m thankful for great doctors!
***Unfortunately, my sister’s tumor surgery cannot be done in Idaho but we had a great almost surgeon here who referred us to a medical team in Utah.

2. – I’m thankful for great news!
***The great news is that the cancer doesn’t appear to have spread into any other organs.
The not so great news is that it has spread further into her stomach than the scans first showed so they will be removing her entire stomach.
3. – I’m thankful for modern medicine!
***Altho it sounds daunting and the medical procedures a bit extreme stage 2 stomach cancer is curable and this procedure has worked countless times and my sister is a great candidate for this surgery.

SO much to be thankful for.

What are YOU thankful for today?
MIMI’S QUOTE FOR THE DAY –

5

Seriously.
Five months folks. That’s how many months are left in this year.
2018.
Who can believe this??!!
Well, here we are.
HAPPY AUGUST EVERYONE!
You could start surprising me by turning off this heat from hell!
Triple digits. Ugh.
Our “cooling trend” of 89 degrees arrives this weekend.
WOO HOO!

That being said, I am hoping, wishing, praying, dancing naked maybe, maybe not for an end to the wildfires, especially in California where people are not only losing their homes but also their lives.
1. Staying cool
2. Errands
3. Crocheting some gifts.
*** I’ve gone as far as I can go on 3 of my blankets because I ran out of certain colors of yarns and none of my go-to yarn stores, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Joann’s nor the freak store Walmart had any of the colors I needed.
The search will continue this weekend…
Aaaanddd nobody cares about my yarn struggle.

I think I might be able to squeeze at least one hat out of this yarn.
I used this type of yarn, not the same colors, once and only once for a blanket I made “Miranda” last year.
Never again.
Super challenging to crochet with again nobody cares about my yarn struggle so I tend to stick to smaller projects now when using this type of yarn.
4. Cricuting.
***LOTS of projects to get printed and cut!
5. Christmas cross stitch.
6. Organize, organize, organize!!!
I really dig this guy.
What are all of you up to?
Anything thrilling and spine-chilling to report??
If you’ve got some cooler temps, rain or snow you could send some out this way!
MIMI’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY –
See? I’m nice like that.
