Last year on this day in Indiana my brother died of stomach cancer.
Last year on this day here in Idaho my sister was in my living room hooked up to feeding tubes dying of stomach cancer.
There really are no words.

You stream, I stream, we all stream for…..!!!
Raise your hand if you watch/stream any of these channels.
I am guilty of all 5 and I even pay extra to have no commercials.
FYI – Waaay cheaper than having cable altho I do have a small antenna hooked up to my tv for local channels.
I will confess that the only reason I got HBO Now was for Game of Thrones but now that that’s heartbreakingly over I’m considering dropping that one. I haven’t found anything else on HBO that I can’t live without.
If any of you have an HBO show that is a must see drop it in the comments and I’ll check it out.
I’m currently into a show on Amazon called, ‘Bosch.’
Netflix is my personal favorite because it saves some great shows!
Like this one that everybody laughs at me for watching but I love it and I wish there were more episodes in the works!
And, of course, this one… Crossing my fingers, eyes, and toes for a Season 5!!
Hulu is great for catching up on episodes of weekly shows on tv that you may have missed.
I think this is a great show. It’s on Fox.
This pretty much covers YouTube for me.
Okay. Your turn. Tell me what you’re streaming and if you’re not streaming what the hell are you watching on your 500 channel
499 of them sports cable package??
I hope you’re all having a safe Memorial Day and saying a big thank you to those who died allowing us the freedom to have our bbq’s and take that extra day off of work.
Did anyone have cookouts this weekend or go to any?
What was on the menu??
It has been a tough week for me as it is my sister’s first birthday – May 26 – since she died in October of stomach cancer. I just keep thinking wishing that she should still be here…
IN OTHER NEWS –
Looks to be a beautiful day today, lots of sunshine and I hope I didn’t just jinx myself into another rainy afternoon because I’d really like to just kick back on the back patio with a good book and some good wine!

***The bed eater boobs.
Those side floppers that you end up laying on and then when you try to move it feels like your bed is trying to eat you.
Maybe. That could just be me.
***Killer boobs.
You know, the ones that end up around your throat trying to strangle you in the middle of the night!
Again, could just be me.
***OR, the haunted boobs.
Boobs that get tangled around your ankles so you feel like a ghost is trying to pull your blankets off.
Definitely me.
And then we’ll add at the end.
Female candidates only.
Well, except this guy. I guess he could join the testing.
I’ve been away. Most of you know why. My sister was battling stomach cancer and with so much sadness and sorrow, I share that she lost her battle.
Your love and hugs and thoughts and prayers across the miles really has been a tremendous comfort and I thank you all for them.
Now. To the part, some of you may not understand.
I can’t be sad anymore.
I’ve been grieving for my sister for a long time and now she is gone and out of the horrific pain she was in and I know that she’s in heaven now.
I asked her to be a guardian angel to my grandbabies and my grown babies and she said she would and then she died on my daughter’s birthday.
I dreaded calling my daughter that morning but one of the nurses did a little happy dance and said, “What a wonderful birthday gift! Your daughter got a guardian angel!”
That made me feel a lit’l better.
I like to think it was my sister’s way of letting me know that she was, in fact, watching over as she said she would.
Side note: My daughter got rear-ended on her way to work shortly after I called to wish her a happy birthday and to tell her that her aunt had died.
Pretty crappy way to start a birthday BUT my daughter wasn’t injured in the accident because why???
She has her very own guardian angel!
Day one in heaven – Score one for the angels.
Okay. Well. A blog post. Hopefully, there will be more.
Thanks for stopping by.
MIMI’S QUOTE FOR THE DAY –
Jumping on the thankful bandwagon of my friend Sandee over at ‘Comedy Plus.’
The Thankful Thursday Blog Hop is hosted by another blogger, Brian over at ‘Brian’s Home.’
This is super simple and a nice break in the day, just list some things that you’re thankful for.
Easy peasy.
When you’re done link up at ‘The Thankful Thursday Blog Hop‘ over at ‘Brian’s Home.’
1. – I’m thankful for great doctors!
***Unfortunately, my sister’s tumor surgery cannot be done in Idaho but we had a great almost surgeon here who referred us to a medical team in Utah.
2. – I’m thankful for great news!
***The great news is that the cancer doesn’t appear to have spread into any other organs.
The not so great news is that it has spread further into her stomach than the scans first showed so they will be removing her entire stomach.
3. – I’m thankful for modern medicine!
***Altho it sounds daunting and the medical procedures a bit extreme stage 2 stomach cancer is curable and this procedure has worked countless times and my sister is a great candidate for this surgery.
SO much to be thankful for.
What are YOU thankful for today?
MIMI’S QUOTE FOR THE DAY –
Okay. Time to get back in the blogging game.
I’m taking a breather this weekend. It’s been a very emotional time. My sister has been diagnosed with stomach cancer but her oncologist is very hopeful. She thinks they caught it in the early stages and an operation to remove the tumor may be the route taken. We’ll see. I could add a million details but I just can’t. My mind is jello. I took a bazillion notes at the oncologist’s office but I’m wiped out. My sister, thankfully, is in good spirits and in my opinion, attitude is 80% of the cure.
Happy weekend everyone. Wishing you much sunshine and warm temps, beautiful flowers and blue skies. My Michigan mittens excluded because we know that’s not happening with you guys. Sorry. Be well folks and enjoy every nanosecond of this precious gift we call life.
